    Solved: That's a bit...

Do not fear! That was a pretty vague post on my part, I should have given more detail. Unless you're gonna be using a ton of third party plugins in pretty huge sessions I think you'll be absolutely fine. Things can get a bit off under 10.8 with my larger projects. My only issue with Logic under...

    Solved: That's a bit...

Just get your hands on the older driver, I might have it laying around here somewhere, I'll have a look. For what it's worth, all of my studio Mac Pro's run 10.6.4. Logic can be a complete bastard with 10.8.x and 10.7.x was a write off. I'll upgrade when I can use Logic at home on current OS'...

How to dial out harshness (V10)?

Yek's question is a very good one. I loaded the factory presets for the first time since FW 1 to see whether some of the complaints were down to the presets and they're, if anything, quite boomy and not at all harsh (5150's aside).

no complaining...just a question about "saturation"

Yup, in theory, yet if that were the case, those controls would have no impact outside of the range of the captured speaker, but they do. Edit: In the interest of fact gathering, do you also use Axe Edit metal190?

no complaining...just a question about "saturation"

I do understand that thinking, however, a real guitar cab would not put out anywhere near that range of frequencies. I narrow it down to something close to what the real speaker can produce most of the time.

no complaining...just a question about "saturation"

That's a far cry from how I'd set that amp, but, I'd probably tweak high and low cut in the cab block. 20hz to 20khz is pretty nuts.

For those with FW 10 issues.

If you post your setup, like how you monitor etc. and what kinda thing you're looking for I'll see what I can do. I'm thinking of making a bunch of presets thru different rigs when I have a couple days off next week. I have access to a ton of monitoring options so should have most all setups...

    Country Amp suggestions

Check out the Wiki, it should have you covered with what everything is/does. AMP (block): list - Axe-Fx II Wiki Edit: Try the Princetone or the JC120.

Wasn't that amp called a Club and Country? Anyways, the Mr. Z is based on a Dr. Z Maz 38 Sr.

    Country Amp suggestions

I've not settled on cabs yet, there are so many new ones to try! However, the 1x12's and 2x12's are a good place to start. The Wiki will have some more specific suggestions, I'm sure.

    Radley's FW 10.0 early impressions:

I'd for sure take another spin (haha) with it. It's very very good in 10.

How much improvement is 10 for you?

I'm not really sure how to answer this. I've had the II from FW 1 and I've been able to get the tones I want out of every firmware when I needed them. I think it's all about the FEEL for me in this one, which to me is now pretty much indistinguishable from my army of amps. The Axe has always...

    Country Amp suggestions

I'm actually starting pre-production on a country record this week. Myself and the guitarist from the band were doing some preliminary scouting of amps from V10 today. Dr. Z is a winner, as are some of the Fenders and the Hi-Watt. Will update this post with what we used once we've got us some...

For those with FW 10 issues.

Enough with the passive aggressive posts. Post your troubling presets and let people help you out. Better yet, post a quick clip and your patch, then others can do the same and you can compare. HELP US TO HELP YOU. Also, enough with all the anecdotal bullshit. "Oh yeah, you need to stand...

I'm having a little crisis in confidence...

If you create tones in isolation at a lower volume then they will absolutely sound different at high volume and in a band context. I'd suggest having a chat with your band mates and asking for an hour at your next rehearsal to knock your tones out while they play with you. You'll no doubt nail...
