Fractal Audio AMP models: USA Pre (MESA/Boogie TriAxis)

Wish green 1 lead was modeled that was my favorite mode in my triaxis awesome lead tone with a ts of in front. Reminded me of the lonestar with more aggressive mids and less boomy low end

Straight into front of tube amp help

i searched for info on this but couldn't find anything, this weekend I have a church gig outside with only vocal monitoring so my usual straight to pa method won't work, the amp being provided is a really nice 50 watt Marshall clone with no fx loop so no 4cm. I setup a preset according to the...

Fractal Audio AMP models: Brit JM45 (Marshall JTM 45)

I'm a huge Clapton fan so what I did to replicate his cream era tone was use the jtm45 tone stack in the normal 100 plexi amp then I changed the power tubes to kt66 and increased the sag a little to create a good model of the jtm 45/100

    FAS Boost

Aren't the mxr distortion + and dod 250 nearly identical? You should be able to switch the distortion + plus to silicone diode and keep your gain low and output high to get close to the dod

Having trouble with pre quantum factory cabs

Figured it out for some reason my speaker size was set at .25 when I switched to different cabs, I copied x to y and then changed the cabs and it fixed it don't know why my personal presets had that setting and none of the factory ones did oh well

Having trouble with pre quantum factory cabs

Updated to quantum today and now the only cabs that sound correct are the new cabs with the italics fonts. Al of the other cabs sound out of phase or something unless I use them in ultra res stereo mode. I already reloaded the firmware and the same thing happened, any ideas?

    I'm a Mark V ignoramus - so give me a hand.

Like several people on this forum I sold my mark v to get an axe fx. I think the petrucci crunch tone nails the mark iv mode. Also the Lonestar is based in the mark I so to simulate the clean on the mark v use the USA lead amp model and change the tone stack to TX clean use TX lead tone stack...

    Swell delays with volume pedal

Did you calibrate the pedal? Also are you using a stereo tip ring sleeve 1/4" cable not just an instrument cable to connect the boss to the mfc?

    Andy Timmons?

Forgot, he always uses v30 speakers in a Mesa 2x12 mic off center with a sm57 this adds some cut to the lonestar that is absent if you use classic 80 ir's (lonestar cab)

    Andy Timmons?

The elegantly gypsy preset is pretty close in my opinion and a good place to start. For resolution sounds use the three knob tube driver into the JCM 800 set clean with very low treble and presence with the petrucci ir, use a tape delay set to 500ms and a ratio of 75% for the second delay to...

    What can axe do?

The axe fx is able to run 2 amps with two different settings (x,y) for a total of 4 distinct sounds within each preset. For example I have a preset with an lonestar for clean on amp 1 x setting and an ac30 for dirty rhythm on amp 1 y setting. Amp 2 in the same preset is a freedman small box for...

    Preset Name Meanings

Isn't the elegant gypsy an Andy Timmons preset using the lonestar tx lead with a bb pre?

How precise is the Axe 5153 Red to the real amp?

I found the gain and tone controls very close to my 5150 and I prefer the consistent mv taper because I hate the way some amps go from quiet to super loud, the best tube amp mv's are mesas imo my mark v actually gradually increased til about 6 then just more saturation though I found it sounded...
