getting closer to purchasing an FM9

Footswitches freak out combined with MIDI Mapping - bug?

I had a similar problem. Turned on MIDI mapping some time ago, and recently noticed that the preset switches would not stay in synch with the preset selected. As soon as I turned mapping off, the problem was solved.

Can you use an External Midi Controller to Toggle Scene?

I just spent some time learning how to do patch and scene changes via MIDI from Pro Tools. You can assign PC (Program Change) values to specific patches and scenes. It is in the SETUP->MIDI/Remote->Mapping page. I did find that using it for scene changes was a little slow to respond, perhaps...

Global Volume Pedal Issue

I have the same issue with the FM3 (have not gotten the FM9 email yet!). This always worked for me on my AX8 and wish they would fix this bug to grab the current value of the pedal on boot up.

Sticking with the FM3? Upgrading to FM9? Why?

Honestly, I think the AX8 sounds amazing and don't hear a measurable difference. I also love the 11 switch form factor on the AX8. The lack of ongoing support is concerning to some, but I have not gotten a firmware update on my Fender Deluxe Reverb in years.
