Axe-Fx Firmware Release Version 18.00 Public Beta

Quick question about the Global Impedance curve feature. So, each of my presets uses the default curve that comes with the selected amp block. Pretty standard. Then I have adjusted the LF parameter in each preset to match that of my real cab. All good so far. Now, should I choose to take my...

    Dark sounding presets

I always thought the majority of factory presets are very dark/wooly sounding. They just aren't dialled in for me, my guitars and my playing style. Luckily I don't use them anyway, I create my own presets and they sound just fine, whether that's under headphones, or at a live gig. There isn't a...

Been thinking about getting a Matrix power amp but.....

Yes, I've used several tube Power amps with the Axe-Fx, including a Mesa Fifty/Fifty, and a Fryette 2/50/2, before finally settling on a Matrix GT1000. With a Solid State Power amp, finding your cab's low resonant frequency is a prerequisite.

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 17.00

Just loaded up FW17 on my Mk1 On the FC the row of presets now flashes until one is selected. Is there a way to stop that happening?

Thanks for confirming. Seems to be a bug there.

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 17.00 Public Beta 4

Just loaded up Beta10 to try it. Why does the FC now ignore the bank limits that are set? I have mine set to wrap from bank 1 to Bank 17 (where all my gigging presets are) but the FC12 still banks up or down 000 - 102. Also, the row of presets now flashes until one is selected. Is there a way...

    Getting my cabinet "moving"

Well that’s the thing that perplexes me too. if I set the curve to match a cab that I’m using on any given gig, then that will inevitably affect the FR signal I’m sending to FOH. i actually like the FOH receiving the sound of my 4x12 regardless of the type of cab I’m using on stage. To this end...

Axe-Fx III sounds thin, tinny, and anemic -- Power Amp?

Yes, and obviously setting the presets to work with the cabinet properly (impedance curve). if the Axe doesn’t know what cabinet it’s ‘talking’ to, then of course it’s going to sound flat and anaemic. You need to make it wake up and that’s important.

Axe-Fx III sounds thin, tinny, and anemic -- Power Amp?

Me too, always stereo, and never ever had a single issue of any kind. It always just sounds incredible, not only to me but the sound guy, and anyone in the FOH area that is remotely clued up enough to notice. I guess it’s just how well you set up your presets that counts for a lot.

    Getting my cabinet "moving"

That’d be great. It would be so easy to simply flip to the curve settings that suit the cabinet that’s being used.

    Getting my cabinet "moving"

So the way I'm understanding it is the fundemental parameter to adjust in the amp block is the LF. Say i'm using the same cabinet, would it be best to adjust all presets (Regardless of amp type) to this same frequency once it's been identified? My other issue is when I gig, generally I will use...

    Lukather The Seventh One Patch?

There are always the wonderful versions guitarnerdswe made which are more circa 1990 but are extremely useful, and nail the PCM70 delays. Thread 'Lexicon PCM70: Pan & Circular Delays' https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/lexicon-pcm70-pan-circular-delays.164461/

I’m new! Tips for running with a cab?

Yes, I have that option too, which is nice in certain venues, but overall I prefer to have a traditional cab behind me, even though it‘s never turned up that loud.

I’m new! Tips for running with a cab?

I use both FOH and amp/cab at the same time. all my presets are configured such that Output 2 (amp/cab) is located before the cab block and output 1 (FOH and monitors). This way I can treat the amp/cab as a kind of personal monitor for me and the band and choose how much of it I need volume...
