Using the Axe-FX III as Hi-End 300B Audiophile Tube Amplifier

Thank you so much Zac! I didn't think to mess with the Audio Midi Setup. It worked perfectly! Pretty cool and fun to experiment with settings. I did notice in the patch that Piing shared that Scene three is labeled "ECC83 + EL34" but the PA tubes are set to KT88. Easy fix. Thanks again...

Using the Axe-FX III as Hi-End 300B Audiophile Tube Amplifier

Fascinating and intriguing. So cool. I'm sort of an audiophile. More of a wannabe since the wallet precludes most of that ridiculously priced stuff. My computer system is Mac based. I've always used a Focusrite Saffire Liq 56 for audio inputs and outputs, recording, etc.. Been a Fractal...

    FM3 Now Shipping

waitlist: Feb. 1, 2020 invite: Sept. 8, 2020 order: Sept. 14, 2020 A cautionary tale. Was wondering why I thought I hadn’t received an invite. It was in my spam folder. First time this has happened to me as I’ve successfully received waitlist invites from Fractal before. If in doubt...

    FAS-Reverb, expired certificate, not installing.

Hey Everyone, I just wanted to post an update to my previous one. I did get FAS-Reverb working finally. In Logic, I loaded the plug-in manager, Preferences=>Plug-in Manager. I selected Fractal Audio from the list in the lower left hand corner of that window. In "Use" column to the right I...

    FAS-Reverb, expired certificate, not installing.

I've had FAS-Reverb running on Logic 10.4 for some time with no problems until today. I attempted to launch Logic and it got hung up during the AU scan. I tried restarting computer and Logic with no luck. I get the error stating that "FAS-reve is not present..." I tried re-installing...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 10.01 Firmware Release

Cliff, I am so grateful to you, your team and the phenomenal company you have built. I didn't think anything could get me more excited about the arrival of the AXE III today (still waiting, UPS where are you?). Then I saw this. I have an MKI AXE-FX (after a Standard and an Ultra). Porting...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 6.00 Firmware Released

Standard => Ultra => Mark I. One happy Fractal customer for life. And, yes FW 6.0 sounds great. Thanks a million for making this work for Mark I owners.

    Legacy Firmware Solution

Cliff and crew, Thank you so much for the hard work and coding that went into the legacy solution for Mark I/II owners. As one of those, using the most recent firmware has always been the way I work. I respect the reasons others may have for keeping earlier updates as an option. My...

Question For Cliff regarding the Buttery model...

I like the Buttery amp quite a lot. After the Hiwatts, It is my go to amp for crunch tones for recording. MV at ten. FET boost in the front. Gives nice clean break up with note clarity but still has girth and fullness w/o flub. I agree the other posters, if a real one is ever modeled...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 1.00 Public Beta

I usually wait till the full non-beta release of firmware. Cliff hooked me with the “Quantum” and also the fact that there were no release notes. Couldn’t resist. Let me say a huge thank you to Cliff and the development team too for the hard work put into this update. It is incredibly...

    Double tracked guitar trick

Thanks for the great tip. Yes. I tried it and it works. However, I am trying to conserve CPU. Which uses less CPU, a Drive block or a compressor block? My presets are not that complicated but I seem to choose effect blocks that have pricey CPU costs and I am near the limit.

    Double tracked guitar trick

Does anyone know precisely how much latency is introduced by the addition of a drive block in one path of a dual amp set up but not the other? Does it depend on the drive type? I'm using the FET Boost primarily. What value in ms would you have to set on the look ahead on a compressor to...
