    AX8 Resale Value

But the fm3 cut a lot of corners as far as foot switches etc. For live use the FM9 is all the ax8 was plus new software. The price on the FM9 is way more so in that sense the ax8 is almost half the price. I personally own an ax8 and if I ever upgrade it will be when the next one comes out...

Would you sell your AX8 to buy a new FM3?

For me it comes down to the money. For me personally. i can't keep sinking this kind of money into modeling gear that is only marginally better than previous generations. I do not own the FM3 but i have had a pod x3, hd500, eleven rack (which i still love) and the ax8. I've heard some pretty...

Fractal Audio FM3 vs AX8 | Raw Amp Comparison

Sorry I must have missed that part. A bit surprised at the difference in the morgan amp especially. The low end was so much more definded. Having that moment of GAS.

Fractal Audio FM3 vs AX8 | Raw Amp Comparison

Please do a comparison using the same ir on both units so we can see how just the amp modeling compares.

3rd Party IRs a solution for stemming off "obsolescence"?

Or sell your ax8 now while they are still selling high and buy the fm3

3rd Party IRs a solution for stemming off "obsolescence"?

I get that. I guess that could be an issue. Just like pro tools 2019.5 does not work on my old windows 8 machine. This may be my last year paying for upgrades since it seems they arent bringing out much new anyway. So in the same way my suggestion is start saving your money now for when...

3rd Party IRs a solution for stemming off "obsolescence"?

The ax8 either does already sound as good as real amp or it doesn't. If it does there is no need for someone like me to ever need anything else as long as it doesn't break. As far as ir's it may depend on if the technology changes where it is not able to use the new type of files...

Any word on an update for the AX8?

Totally my point. I think it is time to be content with what I have. I do not need any new amp models. The only thing I care about at all is seamless amp switching and the potential for even closer authenticity. But really is the ares modeling enough better to justify an upgrade. Maybe by...

Any word on an update for the AX8?

I knew I would piss off people with that comment but we we're told probably a year ago this was still a new product early in it's life cycle. Just a little disapointed it is being replaced so soon. I just don't see it smart to keep seeking the next model. It's a certain amount of marketing...

Any word on an update for the AX8?

Kind of getting to a point where I just want to settle for what i got or find something that isn't going to be replaced every 5 years. I know these modelers have so many amp models but keeping up with the updates is like keeping up with new computers. I can't see spending another 1000 just to...

Axe-FX III Causes YouTube to Freeze?

Can not speak of Mac but on a PC you should be able to change the sample rate of the PC audio to 48k. You should be able to use the ax to play all PC audio. I do this with my audiobox interface. The problem is most definitely the sample rate trying to change midstream.

    Uber Love

Thought at first this thread was about ride-sharing. Now we need musician sharing.

    Improving home studio sound

I agree also if it sounds good at band practice it may simply be a volume issue. Try cranking the headphone volume temporarily to see how that works for you.

Best workaround for less switch latency with Ax8

I find that you can manage to create most tones with a couple different amps. I stick with two or three on most every patch I make. I hate to tell you that even though there are over two hundred amps you won't be using them all. Scene switches to control gain is the best solution I've found...

Confused about missing pedal presets policy

most analog pedals are going to fall between 100 to 200 dollars or more. Nice reverb pedals probably 300 to 400. Lets just say they fall cheaper at the 100 range. Every guitar pedal board at minimum is probably going to have a compressor, drive, delay and reverb. That's at minimum 400 spent...
