How many presets do you really use live?

4 for me. Clean, gritty, main distorted patch and the a solo patch with a bit more gain. This covers all my needs live.Plus cc controlled effects and wah. Oh and I always have a volume pedal programed after the cab so I can fit in the mix for any given song.

No Communication with Axe after Update 11 Mac

I use bome it works great. Bome's Send SX - Bome Software - Freeware for sending and receiving any MIDI messages

Those of us with Standards, it's okay.

Same here. I am sure I will step up to the new Axe2 but I am fine with the standard. Never needed an ultra because of the same sound quality but if the new sound is that much better then Hell yeah.I get great tones everyday out of my standard. Love it. I still got an MP 1 and a lexicon mpx G2...

Thinking about buying an axe-fx...would you do it again?

Just did sound check and wondered how I ever did a gig without my Axe-Fx. Small footprint and so versatile. I would buy it again in a minute.Man am I looking forward to tonight's gig. Huge stage combined with huge sound = :D Merry Christmas.

I was waitin one this one myself. At first I could not get it right but your tip on watchin the video did it.Thank you. I had the master 2 high and the drive 2 low. Now all is well and I love the tight punchy sound.OW! Been using the Soldano for that mid bite but I am really liking this one. T

Has anyone dropped the AXE FX unit yet?

I had the airlines damage my rack so I had the axe sitting on top of the amp for that gig and the sound guy came over and knocked it off the top of the amp.Fell about 4 feet.Bent the bottom left rack ear a little and where the power cord plugs in it is slightly dented.Fired right up and every...

what's the "IN YOUR FACE" effect?

For me I like to set the compressor mix high then back it off till I can barely hear it.(unless I am going for that effect) I do not have standard settings just tweak until it is right.compression is a great effect when used mildly. To much though sounds awful.Pre or post. oh btw pedal comp for...

I like one track dry with compression and 1 track with very early reflections also with compression for that modern in your face punch.For me compression is the key.

Tips for elastic/spongy fluid lead tone at high volume?

May not help but make sure to use a little less gain. String clarity is key for me.To much gain makes my tone feel this way.

Synth module???

I am currently using the Axon MKII and Axon PU with a Muse receptor module running Plugins.Works quite well. Tracks really fast with minor glitches.Like you I would welcome a new technology as well. I have always enjoyed the guitar synth for added textures and to be able to sequence keyboard...
