Loss of volume and tone was destroyed!

I assume people use a Matrix or SD Power Stage to power 2x12 guitar cabs. You mentioned you have a 1960A (4x12). Aren't people pushing guitar cabs with SS amps? The SS amps are almost always high watt output. I need to go back and re-read this thread because I feel like I'm missing...

Loss of volume and tone was destroyed!

I've never blown a speaker. Do you think they were blown prior to using this set up or do you think it happened while trying to get your sound figured out with the Ax8 rig? In my mind, I'm picturing a speaker making a 'boom' noise or something to inform me it's been blown. I ask this...

    Rig complete.....for now...

Nice, clean set up. Doing a bit of Weezer in your set? What's the big 4 button box thingy do? Is it just 4 added toggles?

Can my Fractal Expression Pedal be used as a Global volume pedal?

Retrieving this thread to ask a question or two about Global Volume Pedals: What I've discovered is that the input into Logic is also affected by the Vol. pedal which means to get a good line level my FRFR monitor is maxed in my face. Is there a way to have to Vol. pedal only affect certain...

Knob Riders: OD/Amp or Amp Alone for better cleanup?

I have the Variac at 78% (nothing special with the math going on) I have the Grid Bias at 90%. Stock is 60%. Try it, take a snapshot and see if it works for you. It won't surprise me if it doesn't :tonguewink: With all the EVH books, podcasts videos out there: He was using a variac...

Knob Riders: OD/Amp or Amp Alone for better cleanup?

I've had it wired 50 style but since I was not the person wiring it I can't say it was done correctly or that the tech doing it knew why I was asking for the re-wiring job. I gave him a schematic and when I got it back I could barely tell a difference other than they did a great job soldering...

Knob Riders: OD/Amp or Amp Alone for better cleanup?

Treble bleed and a low output pickup is how I'm able to achieve that dynamic. The trade off is that I use a OD (sometimes two) in front of the amp to get that neck pickup violin type tone. Without the OD boost it sounds stratty (because it's a single coil) and that's a cool tone too. I...

    Modern Hard Rock Amps

If you load the Revv Purple, you may not even have to tweak it. I'm astonished at how close it sounds to my tweaked out Marshal tone that I've worked on for 3 years. The tweaks are baked in. Also don't sleep on the 5153 Stealth. It's pretty close as is too.

    Your current fav Marshallesque amps?

I'm slamming mine with a Seymore Duncan Frankenstein. It's hot according to the 15K noted on the box. They're hand wired and you get what you get when you order. BUT....They behave much better than the mid focused JB I had before. It's just more livelier and I got it because I loved how my...

    Your current fav Marshallesque amps?

So... in the later updates I think the Plexi's behave like their real deal amps, particularly in the way you dial in the treble and bass gains. That being said, I cannot figure out how to dime both gains without the amp needing a boost or OD to 'smooth' it out and then it's to much. I've...

    Your current fav Marshallesque amps?

@Budda I just set up a Plexi preset with all of the Plexi's as you described. The 1970 is awesome but doesn't clean up like the 1959 IMO. At least not where I've got the gain set on the 1970. I'd been screwing around between all the 'pure' Plexi models and recently added the Brit Brown and my...
