Openback, sealed, vented cabs when speakers are already modeled.

Assuming that you have a good set of resonably flat response speakers that are design to be used as openback, sealed or vented cabs, have any of you noticed much of a difference with regards to the sound of your amplifiers when you have the speakers/cabs modeled into your sound? Not sure if...

Modding current amps to sound like other amps.

Never heard of them but they look nice! It almost looks like it's inspired by the AC30. That's my ignorant, knee-jerk conclusion.

That is just awesome. Even better to hear that it can be accomplished with the Standard. :) It drives me nuts. I keep wanting to go on this simplicity kick where all I have is an amp, a guitar and my talent-deficient self. I get some sort of amp...and it's great, but then I want it to do...

That makes sense. I could honestly get away with two amps: Bassman and 5150. An envelope filter is exactly how Boss accomplished this function in their Dyna Drive pedal. :) Thanks!

The three amp scenario is has to do with EQ settings as well as the gain level. For the cleaner stuff, I tend to like the JC sort of sound. For the edge of break up or moderate break up, I tend to like the old Bassman thang. Once you get into the full on Crunch, I dig on the 5150 big time. I...

... and just for safe measure, the issue of the amp I love so much having its sweet spot (to my ears) at such a low volume makes it only good for my bedroom or small, intimate gigs.... is no small issue. I may offer my Mesa Express up for modeling. :)
