High De-phase values making differences between mics way less apparent.

Is it only apparent on certain cabinets? I tried it on a factory preset with a vox and it seemed to have no effect with the selected cabinet. Update: I tried on another random factory preset and the effect seemed to make it more harsh on the top end. I have not heard anything that sounded...

Mixed digital studio setups with Axe-Fx II

What would be even better is if I could use the Axe-Fx clock to drive my ADAT input; but that would require a something that doesn't seem to exist as a standalone unit. Or I could find a clock source that can drive ADAT and SPDIF, but I haven't found any for a reasonable price.

Mixed digital studio setups with Axe-Fx II

Thanks for the replay. I am sure that yours is a typical setup for the average Axe-Fx home user. Seems clean and simple but flexible for small recording sessions. In order to take advantage of my current setup it looks like some of the MOTU interfaces have ADAT and SPDIF inputs, but at that...

Mixed digital studio setups with Axe-Fx II

Just curious to how people on here use the Axe-Fx II's digital outputs to record with in a recording project with a mix of other inputs likely coming from a separate audio interface. I currently have a A&H Zed-R16 firewire board. I have not figured out a way to have a common clock between the...

    Karnivool

Glad to see other folks enjoy this band. For my money they are the best rock band in the world right now. They really have no weak links from a talent standpoint, and you can tell they spend an immense amount of time songwriting, phrasing, and adding texturing to their songs. It is hard to...

    Cliff, Oh My...The Swirl!

How is phase effected by a dc bias? I am assuming it is the variation of the bias that changes a phase shift on the amplifier circuit. Is this the grid bias of the tube, or the quiescent point on a transistor in the pre-amp?

    FCB1010 Help (No Mod/No Chip)

I tried every Axe-Fx Midi I/O option and still had no success. I finally got it to work by unplugging the Midi Input on the FCB1010. I guess I only needed one way communication. I had midi on Axe-Fx as "no thru". I guess the Axe-Fx was sending commands back when I sent a PC command that made it...

    FCB1010 Help (No Mod/No Chip)

TROUBLE! Just received my FCB1010. I followed the advice in this thread by the OP with a minor change. 6->10 are programmed to presets 6 -> 10, scenes 1->5 are programmed 1->5. The scene selection works fine, I go between 1,2,3,4 and 5 with ease. Quick and no issues. Preset changing...

Idea on a preset to really dial in an amp

I want to continue playing while tweaking. I would rather not even know the numeric value of the setting. I want to be completely objective with my ears.

Idea on a preset to really dial in an amp

I was wondering if this is possible. I was thinking about creating a preset that was only amp and cab. I want to dial in the amp using a midi controller using the following method. I want to have two selector pedals on the midi board that cycled through all the amp parameters that have a...

kostein's Axe FX II Firmware 12 High Gain Showcase (28 amp models) & Metal presets

Cool Video. I took notes as I listened to try and see if I could identify my favorite sounding amps as played and dialed in by you. I narrowed it down to about 5 amps or so and then tried to listen to each of those. I would have to say my favorites in this video were: 1) Diezel VH4 2a)...

    Front panel Headphone out

I got the same problem. I have had it since day 1. Since I got mine when they first came out, I guess fractal was very busy, and support was not very supportive. I think after multiple emails I finally did get them to send me a replacement cable that is part of the headphone circuit, but that...

Something Cool I've Been Working On

You could do one, but it will have way too much "room" sound. You would probably need to record it with both the mic and the cabinet hanging 75 feet in the air in the Superdome in order to minimize the early reflections. The other option is to record it in a large anechoic chamber. I have heard...

Can you tone match electric guitars?

I have tried with some success. I tried making my strat style guitar sound like my Les Paul style and Les Paul sound like my strat. Obviously there are still audible differences and you have to do a good job with what material you use to match so that it works in all registers. I would say...

Wrecker now a wreck IMHO [solved]

While I don't need this; maybe for the users that like the more polished sound Cliff could add a "Polished" setting to the Amp Voicing setting. And let it do several of the recommendations here in the advanced settings to get a more polished studio sound. But then again this is where the a...
