Good Marshall style amps; bridging the gap between vintage and modern?

The Trip Tik is good. The Archon. The Spawn Quickrod models are good. CAE3+ is modern marshall vibe. The Soldano models are all great too. FAS Hot Rod. Lots of options in there!

The Satriani JVM models are quite good for what you are talking about.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 23.03 Beta #1

I have played a few Stealth models at Guitar Centers and they sound so different to the "OG" models in the Axe Fx. Very happy we are getting all three channels. The Green channel is much more clean in the Stealth than the OG.

I am loving the EVH Stealth blue channel. I am still having trouble with the red channel. Not sure why but it just doesn’t sound right.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 23.00 Public Beta #1

Of course, the shred models are working fine when I turned my Axe Fx on this morning. I have no idea what happened or why it would sound so drastically different, but here are the 2 presets that it happened on.

The JP2c Shred Mode models all sound like a synth wave now. Both the boost in the amp block and the models themselves. Sounds really weird.

    Input Clipping Thread

I changed one of my guitars bridge pickup height because of the input clipping warning. It helped me see that they were way too close to the strings.

    Input Clipping Thread

I am finding it is my high output passive pickups that are causing input clipping more than my active pickups. I just plugged in my 7 string ibanez with dimarzio pickups and at 15%, where my 6 string esp with fluence moderns was not clipping, it was clipping the inputs full on no matter how I...

Where are you setting your input level?

The guitars that were really clipping the inputs at 50% were EMGs and a set of Fluence Moderns. The red led on the input meter was staying lit up pretty solidly with all those guitars. I just didn't think much about it because "tickling" is a bit subjective. The red lights were coming on, good...

Where are you setting your input level?

Well, this is embarrassing… I have had the Axe Fx III since 2018 and only now realized that 50% is way too high for some of my guitars. The guitar that sounded best at 50% has been my Les Paul with Mojotone 59 clones. And they sounded like raging high output pickups. I turned it down to 15% and...

Mesa boogie is teasing the mark VII

There is a Mark IIb combo at the Guitar Center here in Anchorage and I was really impressed with how it sounded. Very cool little amp. I am curious to hear the Mark VII "mode".
