We want Firmware 12

Dont see any new amp sims on the horizon but wouldn't mind seeing optional firmware versions, V11 as it currently is and say V11A, which drops half the speaker sims and free's up more user slots.

That would just about be it for me.

i still haven't gotten version 11 because i'm happy with version 10.whateveritis

ill get it eventually and when i do i'll consider it a new toy-extension, not a necessity. its great how it is

I think can do an Firmware 12 but not to change the algorithms... only for add two amps like Cameron or JCM 8000 areondo this can be the icing on the cake..

I'm still on Firmware 10 and have no intention of installing 11 anytime soon. Right now, I'm far more interested in the development/debugging of Axe-Edit.

+1 on this I still don't use Axe Edit for this very reason. Once it's completely debuged for the Gen 1 units I will take the time to learn how to use it, unless I move to an Axe ll that is but even then I will wait to use it once it's all good to go.

Hm, i would be happy if there would be updates in future. But FW11 is very good and it´s ok. For me it would be much more important that i could use AXE II presets with the Axe I, knowing that the sound could probably not the same.

It's surreal to me that a group of people that are usually stereotyped as Luddites ('57 Les Paul, anyone?) can't get enough when it comes to firmware updates. I've been as happy as the next guy to receive additional functionality, but I bought the Axe-FX for the functionality it had when I bought it.

I've never expected a tube amp manufacturer to provide free mods. While there would be a world of difference between implementing tube amp mods en masse and releasing FW updates, from a functional perspective there is a lot of similarity.

These days it would be more meaningful to me to have more time to play than to have another firmware update.

You choose wrong manifacturer. If you are able to listen and explain what you would like, no manifacturer refrain to upgrade his product. If it helps sell other product it can do it for free.
The manifacturer I like make free mod for me. They say I have golden ears, an we trust each other. I trust Cliff, he told many times he is open to any suggestion and he can manage them.

People only expect what it states in the sales pitch. If you bought a car that had three years free servicing in the sales pitch, then after one service said that's it bud, you to would quite the sales pitch back to them, not that it matters.

- give us less amp models to free room up for effects / user IRs...

- give us less effects / less stock cabs to free up room for more user IRs....

- give us alternative firmwares A and B etc...

Those are pipe dreams. And I doubt we are going to see any more Axe II modeling improvements Im sad to say. I think we are expected to buy the product. If anything, we might see new amp sims, but I bet any new firmware will not be released for a long time

And if he does it for a discontinued product, he's an idiot.

It's not impossible to add new amp models, there's room for 150 models in both the Ultra and the Standard IIRW. Will Cliff find the time to add more amps, that's another question. But, regarding the amp modeling technology by itself, there's probably no room for those famous Cliff epiphanies which sent us short on superlatives. So, those like me missing their monthly firmware fix have no choice but go II ;)

Why should we want a monthly firmware ? Until V10 I didn't even completely understand the unit nor had the time to correct patches etc after firmware changes and am quite happy that V11 is so longlasting. On the other hand I'm confident (and at least hoping) that there will be some additional features for X-mas, potentially the last one ever for Std & Ultra but so be it. And if nothing comes, well it won't keep me from working on the animal ! Still so much to dig ! Hope also that AxeChange will be on line with AxeEdit shortly.
Cheers !

Now that you mention it, a Christmas firmware gift for ultra/std users would really be nice :)

ESPECIALLY if it had the new lonestar model in it :p

what is the FW12?

FW12 is like "sweetties", it means a bit of tension and risk for heart attack. But it's also like sex, once you've tried it you can't keep off !!! Sorry for these plastic explanations. Or for Viagra users...it generally brings new exciting performance. But I'll stop here because ev'ry body will start to think that Frenchmen have a problem..(i'm dutch btw).
Just kiddin'..

Wooooow a lonestar.... and can include JCm jose Aredondo... o Cameron.... mmmmm ...any Xmas gift will be welcome

:mrgreen

Man I remember when we were stoked about v4.0. Whut about 20 or 30 updates ago...lol?
