FM3 Firmware Version 5.03 beta 2 is now available for download:
[Link removed when BETA 3 was released : https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/fm3-firmware-version-5-03-beta-3.183495/]

A new version of FM3-Edit is required for this version:
https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/fm3-edit-1-05-09-supports-firmware-5-03-public-beta-1.183431/

This build fixes the 59 Bassguy Bright displayed on every preset in FW version 5.03 beta 1

NEW AND IMPROVED FEATURES

  • Added “Scene Ignore” to most blocks. When set to ON, Scene Ignore instructs the block to ignore scene changes. Scene Ignore is a per-channel parameter. This allows turning Scene Ignore to OFF on one or more channels which will then allow a scene change to set the block to a desired state if the block is on that channel.
  • Added frequency and cents text to Tuner display.
  • Improved Amp block transformer/speaker interaction modeling. The “Voice Coil Resistance” parameter has been repurposed/renamed “Speaker Impedance”. The various parameters work as follows:
    • Transformer Matching: Sets the impedance ratio (square of the turns ratio) of the output transformer.
    • Speaker Impedance: Sets the relative nominal impedance of the speaker. To simulate connecting, e.g., a 4-ohm speaker to an 8-ohm output you would set Speaker Impedance to 0.5. Conversely to simulate connecting a 16-ohm speaker you would set it to 2.0.
  • Update PI Bias Excursion parameters for many Amp models based on new measurement technique.

FIXES

  • Fixed 59 Bassguy Jumped audio drop when Normal Drive is set to zero and Bright Drive is adjusted rapidly.
  • Fixed crash in Plex Delay block when Master Time is zero.
  • Fixed crash in Parametric EQ block graph when modifier update rate set to Medium or Fast.
  • Per-Preset FC Settings pages will now scroll properly.

A pretty swell response time to the bug, thanks for the great work you guys put in! Didn't have time to grab the last one, but I have a feeling this 1's a winner.

Thanks a lot!
I'm just trying my high-gain presets and I noticed an increment of 5-6 db at output in some of them. (e.g.: JP IIC+ and PVH6160 block as amps)
The Atomica and Cameron amp based presets have no increment... is this expected?

I had to roll back to 5.02. Something is off with the volume output and something else just feels off. Sorry, I'm not helpful, but I enjoy commenting and then seeing my words on the screen. :)

There were sporadic reports of level problems with the Amp block in previous releases. If you experienced this and compensated for it then you may see improvements with this release.

Thanks!
I compensated and my ears are telling me that this JP IIC+ is more 'vivid & organic' than ever.
Placebo or not I'm loving what I'm hearing!

Hmm nah i have a preset that was totally fine last night that now has in some areas hilarious volume discrepancies

There are going to be level discrepancies when correcting an algorithm that produced level discrepancies....yes, you will probably have to re-level your presets. This is the price we pay for free upgrades. Carry on.

So he mentioned amp. That’s one thing. My amp doesn’t change. Drives do at times but nothing else . There’s again some laughable difference’s in some presets my clean is much louder in others drive channel a is louder than my once louder lead tone ins drive channel c just seems SUPER different lol

If you don't like the sound then by all means stay with 5.02 - just understand that there is a difference between bugs or issues with a release, and things changing with your presets. Whenever there is an upgrade to the amp modeling, there are tweaks that need to be made. I haven't played the beta yet - got a gig tonight - so not saying there are no issues at all either - just know that whenever changes in modeling occur, it is normal to have to edit and tweak your presets.

This aint my first rodeo

Sounds good but i tryed to relevel with Preset Levelling Tool and hit save after levels are ok...

went to the next preset and did the same an so on...

Went back to the first i leveled and nothing changed.

Resarted the unit and FM3 Edit(Yes newest version) and tryed again...

same bug that it does not save changes i made .

Dont know if it`s a firmware or editor Problem.

The feeling and sound is much better and like my Axe now
