I'd appreciate you posting examples of a "biting" lead tone, with sustain, but without the aggressive high-gain pick attack. What I have trouble with, is when playing a quick passage that goes from say, the 10th fret of the 2nd string to the 7th on the 1st, (or really, any adjacent strings) and if you don't lift your finger at the exact moment, you hear both strings for just the briefest time, and you can hear the dissonance. So I guess I'm looking for help with getting a really creamy lead tone, that kind of allows for less-than-perfect technique, if that makes sense.
I'm learning a song that has lots of picked arpeggios, and trying to not have any space between the notes, but also no overlap (that causes that dissonance.) I'm working on the technique part as well, but in the meantime, I feel the right preset would help.
