Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 17.00 Public Beta

17.00
Version 17 introduces FullResTM Impulse Response processing.
Nice!

The IR Player block and the Cabinet block both support FullRes IRs. The last two slots of the Cabinet block support FullRes. This is sufficient to provide two room mics, a left and a right, along with two direct mics within a single Cabinet block.

The two IR Player blocks have been combined into a single, stereo IR Player block with individual level and pan controls for each IR. Setting the IR Length to OFF defeats the IR. A Mix control is also provided so the block can be used as a convolution reverb. A Mode control allows the two IRs to be in parallel or series. When in series the individual level and pan controls are defeated and removed from the UI.
Nice!

IR management has been completely rewritten providing smoother performance and better integration with Axe-Edit.
Can't wait to try this out....

Increased Mic Distance range in Cabinet block to 3.4m (~11 feet). This allows delaying room mic IRs that have been trimmed to remove the leading silence. The alignment graph now features a Zoom control that changes the abscissa between 3ms and 12ms.
Cool! Hopefully on the CabLab3 side, the measurement units and mic placement granularity have been synched up with the Cab block's, for easier and more accurate submixing of multiple IRs to a single mix file

Will these FullRes IRs be available for download so that we can at least use them in an updated cablab version?

No. You have to buy them from the vendors who create them. Maybe there will be some free samples.
Ive installed the beta and can see the new User FR IR bank using the front panel.
Am I right in the assumption that the entire bank is empty and I cant upload any Fullres IRs in AxeEdit yet? Are there any free Fullres IRs available when Axeedit gets updated? Im keen to try these out as I usually use headphones with my Axe. Cheers.

FX3 MK I .....it does not find me in the FC12 blocks present in the rig .. wha, volume ... off in the FC12 but present in the rig

for stupid reasons of not having space to allot to the full res ir's even when we have so much of unused ir space.
Who is we?
YOU have so much unused IR space. Not everyone is you.
Calling it "stupid" is a heck of a judgment on your fellow players who utilize the AXE-FXIII differently than you do, as well as the fact that Fractal stated explicitly the MarkII included more space for future functionality improvements.
People need to lay off Fractal and Cliff on the speed of making the decision to sacrifice a User bank. It's a big decision that will essentially be taking away a function that some players use and were promised when they bought the unit. That's not as clear cut as some people are making it seem.

Nice, Thanks Cliff!! I'll probably wait until full release when there are some fullres IRs available. Can't wait to try it though!

Version 17 introduces FullResTM Impulse Response processing. FullRes processes IRs up to 64K points with zero latency using a novel technique. This provides up to 1.37 seconds of response time.
Is 1.37 seconds a typo?
Shouldn't 64k samples be 1.333 seconds at 48KHz?

NOTE: FullRes processing is currently only supported on the Axe-Fx III Mark II. The original Axe-Fx III has less non-volatile memory and therefore does not have the necessary resources to store the IRs.
will be totally bummed if we have to upgrade hardware to support the FullRes IR's - I can only imagine the number of units which be for sale on reverb if this is the case..
