Saw a poor soul on the fractal FB group say he sold al his fractal stuff to pay for one of these not knowing how long the wait list could be.
I had them connected via 4 cable method originally but then simplified it. Now I DI into the QC perform overdrives/amps, go out stereo sends to Fm3 and do all of my favorite effects (pitch/modulation/delay/reverb/enhance) there, going out the fm3 xlr outs to an audient id44.Curious how you set this up. I was considering doing the same thing. Ideally I wanted a dual amp rig (one from FM3 and one from QC) with both amps heard in both sides of a stereo setup and effects stereo as well. Just wasn’t sure how to route this or if it’s possible.
The FM9 has more CPU power. Not sure what you mean by "more efficient CPU."AXE FX II vs FM9? Which one has better / more efficient CPU?
there are wiki pages dedicated to all of these devices.AXE FX II vs FM9? Which one has better / more efficient CPU?
I know! Thought it was my invite!!!Dang it Fractal! Just received an email from Fractal Audio. Couldn’t open it fast enough. Just an ad.
haha! I got an ad today too! I got all excited thinking it was an official invite to purchase the FM9! LOL!Dang it Fractal! Just received an email from Fractal Audio. Couldn’t open it fast enough. Just an ad.
@Admin M@ - I really like the blocks guide! Given it is version 4.3 it must have been around for a while and I missed. But loving the detail and comprehensive information. Thank you for this! You might enjoy this comparison for starters.

Page 3 of the new Blocks Guide also includes a comparison.

There's more to it than CPU efficiency, there's also the firmware and modeling quality. The FM9 runs Cygnus.AXE FX II vs FM9? Which one has better / more efficient CPU?
Working insane amounts of hours for last 3 years (last year plus was especially bad with everyone moving to telework and several high profile attacks on Government systems). I am moving from IT operations to Cybersecurity Compliance now, so I will actually be able to get back to some what normal hours and get a life outside of work again.
My modeler needs to support 16 separate paths so the drummer can mic his drums through it as well as the rest of the band. Come on Fractal.I would drop that QC like a crazy ex GF !
while it is still worth some cash.
The FM9 will do 2x the FM3 in one box .
or perhaps I would consider two FM3s
and tell the other guitarist to get a job
(Totally kidding)
It's about time somebody grew a pair and said what we've all been thinkingMy modeler needs to support 16 separate paths so the drummer can mic his drums through it as well as the rest of the band. Come on Fractal.
That's a perfectly reasonable request. This is the kind of spitballing that makes good things great. I hope Fractal is listening carefully to this one!!My modeler needs to support 16 separate paths so the drummer can mic his drums through it as well as the rest of the band. Come on Fractal.
"Soon" is always the correct answer.Curious how long to expect the wait to be. If this announcement was when the waitlist opened at 8:30 last Friday, I was on it within 2.5 hours. Hopefully soon?
I know, from reliable sources, that your estimation is absolutely right"Soon" is always the correct answer.
That’s a hard question to answer for so many products right now, from automobiles to refrigerators to windows, etc. That’s the unfortunate reality of 2021. The shelves are even bare at my local IKEA.Curious how long to expect the wait to be. If this announcement was when the waitlist opened at 8:30 last Friday, I was on it within 2.5 hours. Hopefully soon?
As it is written, so shall it be: https://wiki.fractalaudio.com/wiki/index.php?title=SoonI know, from reliable sources, that your estimation is absolutely right
