Sounds like we have a similar opinion. The main issue I have with Windows (and it’s really not Windows, but with MS) are two main things. The Update process…meaning they forced ALL users in a catch 22 situation where you are essentially forced to have auto update turned on and use their super slow quasi peer to peer server system. I have had so many people screw their computer up by not realizing a major (looong download and install) update was being performed and turn their computer off or whatever computing scenario and screw up the update install and thus Windows. Second, combining a “Mobile” OS and a ”Desktop/Workstation” OS in one.been using windows since MS-DOS days lol...
I've used FAS software on XP, 7, 8, 10, never an issue.
Except for my win 7 laptop, I've built every PC myself to ensure hardware compatibility through component upgrades.
Fixing friends PC's over the years, always the same thing. They installed the wrong drivers. They pirated software. They visit porn sites. They clicked questionable links. They don't use a VPN. They have the cheapest or built in AV. They have 700 things running in the background. They have a disk Defrag program killing their 5 year old HDD, and refuse to upgrade to solid state. They don't know how to look at error logs. They don't want to learn. They leave everything at "default" installation setting.
It's very rare these days that hardware like USB ports fails on a PC in its lifetime. Likewise Windows 10 is so robust, meaning they've made it compatible with 99.9% of possible scenarios. Further, you can have all kinds of config errors popping every second without even knowing, while still having a seamless user experience.
Maybe it's just me, but imo Windows is not the problem.
Having said that, considering all the hardware and software choices a user has with a Windows platform and the fact it’s under constant attack by black hats, MS has gotten it as close to a “Plug and Play” not ”Plug and Pray” OS possible.
