A FM3 review from Germany

Yesterday I got my FM 3 after 13,5 months of waiting....
I collected it at UPS access point „Eichholz Floristik“ (flower shop) and
also buyed some flowers for my wife as I promised as I annoyed her with my waiting for such a long time.
And as so many people already posted photos of this unit I decided to upload a photo of the flowers instead ;)
I first connected it with M-Audio Bass Traveler and headphones and a Y adapter and adjusted it like Marco Fanton described it in his short Youtube-clip.
I am in this forum since september and enjoyed the waiting, speculating for the FM 3 but as I am not a native speaker I want to write the following first impressions in german language as the best way to express emotions is to say/write it in your native language.....for everyone who does not speak german just use google translator, I am sure that it will be funny as google translator is very creative with translations :D

Happy wife happy life 😀
Sehr schön geschriebene review
Waiting for the Fm3 to complete my Fractal family 😎
Cheers

Here's google translate for the lazy...

I have been playing electric guitar since 1995 pure all tube amplifiers.

In the past, I only used digital simulations as a compromise when, for example, with a cover band there was hardly any time for sound checks and stage set-up and the stage was small (city festivals, marksmen's festivals).
In 2010 I had my first AX FX and sold it again after a short time because I am not a fan of rack units. The realism was shocking compared to Line 6, Vox, Boss, Korg and co ...
After I had the AX 8 from 2018 to 2019 and had completely convinced myself of this part, the FM 3 really blows my mind:
Clean and low gain amp models in particular sound so inspiring, dynamic and react so well to every nuance of my game that it's a real pleasure.
I would pay the estimated price even for a fraction of the amp models and effects if the results are so convincing!
The idea of digital simulations has been around for a long time, but Fractal Audio has set a standard here and, with the right processor power and programming skills, has created a milestone in music history.
The fact that you repeat phrases and that the sound seems to keep changing and lively has never been seen in digital modeling before.
The processing of the device and the new display (compared to the AX 8 much nicer, even if the display of the AX 8 didn't bother me) are awesome!
In any case, I would have preferred the FM 3 at the time of the cover band, because this technology is no longer a compromise for me.
It is enough that I play two models with Telecaster and Stratocaster that have been around for almost 70 years. Since reinforcement and effects may like to be modern;)
And as the saying goes: the sound comes from the fingers: cool:
How nice that the FM 3 translates exactly what you create with game dynamics.
And I love the fact that the FM 3 is so compact. In contrast, the AX 8 was a real knock!

Thanks sskkmm for translating it :)

The translation is better than expected :)
The word "reinforcement" should be "amplification" in general, meaning AMPLIFICATION and effects but "Verstärkung" has different meanings in english. But, sometimes you also need REINFORCEMENT as a guitarist if the rest of the band is too loud :D

Bloody Hell, what a brilliant business idea. UPS pickup at a flower shop. Thousands of guilty guys sure need to buy some flowers as well while picking up their USD 400 purchase (which in fact was 1400) :D
Yeah, that is absolutely true, it is brilliant :D
I also had to remind my wife several times within the last 13,5 months that I will only use the 1.300 Euro that I got in May last year for selling my AX 8 to purchase the FM 3 with a price of 1.216 Euro :D

If some of you ever get the chance you HAVE to visit austrias city called „Fucking“.
The name of this city is already funny but they also have an own brewery
and they offer a beer called „Fucking hell“ :D

„hell“ means „bright“ in german as it is a wheat beer that is brighter than „normal“ beer.
So the residents of Fucking (what a funny sentence in english...)
are on the one hand happy about the many tourists but are also annoyed by many tourists making photos with a glass or bottle of “Fucking hell” :D

I just realised that I wrote „fucking“ three times and „hell“ two times but I did not meant what some would expect....
I know that it is not allowed due to the forum rules but it has a different meaning :innocent::D

What I realised yesterday:

The models of the CE-2 Chorus and the Spring Reverb sound exactly like the real pedal (I own a CE-2 and a Vahlbruch Pipeline which sounds a like a real spring reverb).

Very impressive :)

Nice idea getting flowers for your wife !
And good review that reflects my experience with modellers and FM3 in a similar way.
Picked mine at a household appliances that is an UPS access point too.
Think that it was a good idea not to buy my wife an iron or toaster to appease her ;)
That would have backfired :tearsofjoy:

And beautifull flowers !

https://austinbuddy.com/shop/1000-live-gold/
