FracTool - for power users only

FracTool 3.30 is available, here are the conversion fixes :

  • INPUT block level was always to -20 dB, it's now set to 0dB
  • INPUT block attack and releaserange changed between gen2 and 3, now taken into account
  • MULTICOMP block freq range for high band is now set to HIGH during conversion, keeping the correct XOver frequency
  • COMP threshold not converted correctly
  • AMP PA hardness was set to 0
  • AMP PT mismatch was set to -1
  • AMP Variac was set to 50% if not present in source preset (very old ones)
  • AMP AC Line Freq was set to 30 Hz (now defaults to 60)
  • SPKR compliance is now defaulting to 50% if not present in source preset
  • REVERB echo density range changed
  • REVERB stereo spread now defaults to 0%
  • CAB levels range changed, now taken into account
  • WAH bias now defaults to 5 if not present in source preset (very old ones)
Wow. That’s a lot of fixes and tweaks. Nicely done!

Congrats Alex for your continuous job for the community !
Just installing the latest with my new AFX3. Will use it for the presets from Leon, Burg etc. and mainly I think when need to "reset" amp with FW evolution, keeping some parameters values.
any recommendations by the way about these reset operations ?
thanks Alex

Only do it if strange sounds are produced, otherwise avoid it

hmm just to understand, you mean:
  • avoid to reset amp across FW update
  • or avoir using Fractool for reset operation?

sorry if it's stupid question .. ;)

The download link just delivered version 3.28 not 3.30. How do I get the latest?

EDIT: Ignore that, the crash report says version 3.28 but the FracTool UI says 3.30. Maybe a PLIST needs to be updated?

3.30 crashes when trying to export to CSV. I'm on Axe III 6.04.

Can't reproduce the crash, i need the preset, as usual... I think i'm gonna refuse every future report without a preset and exact reproduction scheme...

I'm seeing the same behavior as reported by @fractalz. Crashes for me when exporting to any file format. Reproduced using that ACDC preset from above as well as other presets.

MacOS Mojave 10.14.5 (18F132)
FracTool: 3.30 (Although crash logs still show 3.28 as previously reported)

Attaching crash logs. Looks like a divide by zero issue.

Thanks for taking a look at this. Appreciate all your hard work.

Seems a mac issue, doesn't happen on windows.
I'll try to reproduce on mac asap,
Thanks for the detailed report

Bug identified and fixed in next release

Installed 3.31 and I'm still seeing the same crash while exporting. Used the ACDC preset from above (plus others). Tried exporting to CSV, PDF and HTML.

MacOS Mojave 10.14.5 (18F132)
FracTool: 3.31

Crash log for CSV export attached.
