DB Meter app for Android phone

Guys what is a good DB Meter app for an Android phone? I've downloaded on to check the level coming out my monitors but I'm not sure how acurate is it. Thanks.

According to the above study Noise Hunter, NoiSee og SoundMeter - should be within the magical +/- 2 dBA-limit in A-weighted measurements.

It would be helpful, if they had direct links to the apps in the article. There are at least ten different apps in the Play Store called SoundMeter

I have used one called SPL Meter (might be the "(Real) SPL Meter" from above, I don't know). It is OK. I recently purchased one of these $60 hardware SPL meters from a consumer electronics store. I am no more confident about its measurements than the ones I get from my phone.

I just got me a calibrated miniDSP UMIK1 for about 130€. To me makes a lot more sense than wasting money on shady PlayStore content.

For most people who just want a general idea of sound levels he apps work fine.

Don’t see what’s “shady” about them

If it doesn't have to be precise then it could be ok. However, one just doesn't know how good the components are the manufacturer put in. Ever tried a compass app on your Android phone ? No matter how often I tried to calibrate it it's about 90 degrees off. Might be different on iOS devices, though.

Most PlayStore apps are free and instead steal your data. That's what I call shady.
