Now available on the Fractal Audio website for immediate download, AX8 V3.51:

http://www.fractalaudio.com/downloads/firmware-presets/ax8/3.0/ax8-3p51.zip

This maintenance release corrects a couple of bugs, and enhances one of the new features. As always, we strongly suggest you backup your AX8 and presets utilizing Fractal Bot:

http://www.fractalaudio.com/fractal-bot.php

NOTE: If you have already installed V3.50, we would encourage you to install the maintenance release.

Here are the release notes:

AX8 V3.51 is a maintenance release that mainly addresses a bug that can affect the AX8’s ability to store SYSTEM PARAMETERS. This release should be used in lieu of V3.50 which introduced the storage bug. As always, please back up your unit before upgrading. If you are upgrading from any older revision, other than V3.50, please read the V3.50 release notes, as they detail important feature additions.

Additions
· BANK LOWER LIMIT and BANK UPPER LIMIT can now be set to the same value, limiting the use of the AX8 to 1 preset bank.

Fixes
· Correct a bug that prevented the AX8 from correctly storing the SYSTEM PARAMETERS
· Corrected a scrolling bug that corrupted the display on the CFG screen

I'm brand new new to the Fractal camp - my AX8 arrived yesterday and I won't be able to play it until this weekend. Yes, I'm a patient guy...

I must admit as the owner of a Kemper, the wait for their new OS has been freaking glacial. Moreso now seeing the rapid pace from the Fractal crew. God only knows when the promised new KPA delays and reverbs will hit...

Anyhow, kudos to the Fractal development team!

since many will look here now instead of the 3.50 thread, i'm reposting this information:

If you missed my Live Stream showing the new features of FW 3.50 for the AX8, I made a video that summarizes the major changes including the new "Metallica" USA MKII C++ amp model, Control Switch Blocks, Momentary switches and Bank Limit. Be sure to read the Release Notes for other important changes from this and previous FW updates, especially if you are skipping over releases!

If you enjoy this type of video and summary, please consider sending a donation/tip to my StreamJar; it helps me dedicate time to Fractal Products to create these videos. Thanks! https://streamjar.tv/tip/axefxtutorials

Chris -.watched you vide on 3.5. Excellent job. I have a question, how do you incorporate latching when you have the IA set to X/Y functionality. For example, for my drive block, I have a different drive on X than Y. If I hold the IA down, it switches between X/Y. I assume I would have to make a choice on using one IA for X/Y and another for latching, correct?

if you set a Bypass/Engage switch to Momentary, the XY function is disabled.

I'm getting a subtle amount of latency. I don't really notice it unless I'm playing fast alternate picking on the high notes. I went back to my Axe FxII and I'm not getting it. Just wondering if I'm crazy or is there something I can do on the AX8 to cure it? Anyone else? I'm only running two blocks. The Angle 1 and a cab block.

do you mean a delay from when you play your guitar to when you hear the result of the AX8?

is it on all presets? this is not something i've experienced.

It's like the faster I play the more it gets slightly off to a point where I can't keep the alternate picking going. Almost like it can't keep up and it makes me get off time from my picking but on the Axe Fxii I'm fine. Maybe it's just me, like I said, its subtle.
