    FM9 Firmware Version 7.00

Thank you to everyone involved in the development and testing of v7...it's awesome indeed; there is "a little something new" in v7 that wasn't there before; both in the feel and tone, absolutely. Tonight I rehearsed with the FM9 and was jamming with some audio files at low-ish volumes and...

    FM9 Firmware Version 7.00 public beta (1)

I made a full backup of my presets, system config, and layouts (in case I need to revert; have gigs next two weekends) and updated to v7. As a departure from my normal firmware upgrade, where I fully reset all AMP blocks, I just recalled my existing presets and re-saved them without changing...

    FM9 Firmware Version 7.00 public beta (1)

Ok, thanks for the info... Same here....after doing literally hundreds of firmware upgrades over the years on Fractal gear that was the first time anything like that happened to me...so it kinda stuck out like a sore thumb. Have had a lot of play/gig time on the FM9 since then and I've not...

    FM9 Firmware Version 7.00 public beta (1)

Just out of curiosity, did that switch stop responding after rebooting after you first upgraded to v6, or was it at a later time? The only time that happened to me was after the first reboot after upgrading to v6 from v5; switch #6 was non-responsive immediately post-reboot. It's not happened...

When I updated my FM9 to v6 the same thing happened to my #6 button; it went completely unresponsive and I fiddled around with various things with no luck (another user said they had the same button freeze post-install of v6 here as well). A 2nd hard-reboot solved the issue and it's never...

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta #2 (Cygnus X-3 Release Candidate)

Agree with your comments. Experimenting with different tubes is always worth the small effort it takes to swap them out in the AFX and see their effect. Just yesterday afternoon I was looking for "something" in my lead tone and I spent a few minutes swapping out the preamp and power amp tubes...

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta #2 (Cygnus X-3 Release Candidate)

I've also found that, in many cases, I bond with different amps after a major firmware/modelling upgrade, and replace some in my main gig presets. I always go through every amp in the box for that reason post upgrade, and tend to find the modeling improvements seem to reveal themselves a bit...

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta #2 (Cygnus X-3 Release Candidate)

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

Ahhhhh cool...edge of breakup is where "the devil lives" lol. Those are always the hardest tones to model and get right IMO. You're dancing on the edge when you have those tones dialed in and the various distortion mechanisms in the AMP block are all interacting at the point where subtle...

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

Nice...this is the kind of stuff I want to read in this thread. Given how CX3 appears to be a top-down fundamental re-working of the main amp modelling modules, and that the real amps have been resampled/"remastered", I've been expecting comments like this....keep them coming people. I don't...

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

Has anyone just reset their favorite amp and cranked it? What are ya feeling? How about an amp like the 6G4 SUPER? I have an FM9 so it'll be a bit before I can try CX3 out so, yea, I live vicariously thru here...sad, I know, but there it is lol...

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

When Cygnus X-3 becomes available for the FM9 this is what I'll do as well. All Capacitors have a polarity?

Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.00 Public Beta (Cygnus X-3)

Awesome....I love when a firmware update makes amps that you've never connected with before give you pause as you discover something that speaks to you as you try them. 25. Stratoblaster

Why do some IR's and DynaCab's seem to compress more than others?

This mirrors my experience with IR's; over the years I've chosen certain ones to work with based on the feel I got when using them, irrespective of amp tweaks, etc. Even though IR's are just high-res EQ's, in a sense, and linear, IME they can, and do, affect the feel.

I'm of the same opinion; when I first saw some of the "text to image" AI generated art/images I thought, "well, this will certainly displace some graphic artists, no doubt," but, at the same time, I strongly felt that art crafted by a real person will elevate it's "status" and become even more...

    Wish Saturation Level Control

Cool! Me too! Right, this mod is zener diodes strapped across the preamp output (I'm pretty sure that's where this circuit is located) and will indeed reduce the volume when engaged as the signal is getting clipped/limited. I've wondered how the "Saturation Drive" works in the AFX: are the...
