well... not that it matters, but actually I've been an official FAS beta tester since pretty much the beginning. so no, I don't come here to leave feedback, derail the thread or argue with fellow users, but rather double check through reported bugs. but let's just leave it at that...

... shouting "how the f#$% could I miss the reverse ducker!" but seriously, the 2290 is such a hifi sounding unit that it's really no problem for the Axe to sound the same. much different to old Korg, Roland or Lexicon delays where their preamps really make much of the signature sound...

Input levels with analog distortion pedal?

that's definitely because of compression and smoothed transients due to the distortion. I wouldn't worry too much and run the pedal's level as you usually would even if it doesn't tickle the red.

    Friedman IR-X

that was my initial thought after hearing some demos (haven't had a chance to try it myself yet). but that could really be down to the IR choice. would be interesting to load the same IR into the IR-X as used for comparison in the III. that would at least eliminate that variable a bit...

    Friedman IR-X

how are you gonna connect / route the IR-X ? my thinking was to definitely go directly from guitar straight into IR-X to avoid any of the limiter / secret guitar input sauce of Input 1 (and also to especially use it with real drive pedals in front) and then get it into the III mostly for effects...
  23. VegaBaby

    Friedman IR-X

would it be possible to run the IR-X in one of the Axe's loops? so... guitar into IR-X, IR-X out into Axe input 2 (so you're not using the "secret sauce" guitar input of Input 1) and then you just load up the IR-X into the grid via Input 2 block and still can use the Axe's effects either in...

I think Cliff is a little more traditional thinking when it comes to effects or at least what types should be in the Axe. 90% of the available stuff is bread and butter and even the more obscure stuff that's in there, or can be created via complex routing, are things you could do with Eventides...

    Dyna Cabs...why don't I get it?

I don't think it's a problem not to like the current DC offerings, but that shouldn't be projected on the actual DC interface/GUI/technology used. fact is that certain cabs/speakers/mics were used in the making and these may just not be to everyone's taste. maybe FAS's choice and taste in...

... but isn't saturation a huge part of color and personality of mic pres or maybe even the most interesting part? since saturation can't really be captured in an IR, all you're left with is mostly EQ color which would then color the tone of the actual speaker and cab that's being captured...
