Anyone compare that new 2290 pedal to our 2290 delay?

... shouting "how the f#$% could I miss the reverse ducker!" but seriously, the 2290 is such a hifi sounding unit that it's really no problem for the Axe to sound the same. much different to old Korg, Roland or Lexicon delays where their preamps really make much of the signature sound...

Input levels with analog distortion pedal?

that's definitely because of compression and smoothed transients due to the distortion. I wouldn't worry too much and run the pedal's level as you usually would even if it doesn't tickle the red.

how are you gonna connect / route the IR-X ? my thinking was to definitely go directly from guitar straight into IR-X to avoid any of the limiter / secret guitar input sauce of Input 1 (and also to especially use it with real drive pedals in front) and then get it into the III mostly for effects...

on a Synth yes, but you're dealing with an oscillator as a source which can sound indefinitely and has no shape on its own so to speak. quite the opposite to a string which has sort of an ADSR implemented by nature...

I always found the real AFD to sound a bit dead actually. never did a direct comparison to the model though and eventhough there are plenty of similar options to choose from, if the model is off, it should be looked into...
