Sigh... gig failure.

I had the timeout issue initially, but it was fixed under warranty. No problem with my the AXE FXII since. Had an issue with the MFC screen only lid up, but nothing is displayed. Turned out to be loose cables inside. I took it apart and make sure all cables are plugged in, have not had any...

Fixed Possible bug in Quantum v1

I have the same issue with my MK3. It just went from frozen occasionally to a blank screen now. Unplug and plug back in will work before, but not now. Is there a fix yet?

How do you fix crackle sound with USB?

I just did some testing as suggested. Yes, indeed it was a CPU issue. Not sure where the threshold is, but anything in the high 80's will cause crackling as it takes additional cpu to run the USB interface. As always, thanks a bunch for all the help. Fractal family is the best.

This is how I have mine while on stage. But, it would be a little to hard to adjust while sitting down in a studio I think. The picture is not of the AXE but I had it in there same case. That stand can be had for $15 around Christmas time on sale.

I'm concerned that updates are getting a bit out of control

I somewhat agree with the OP looking at a different angle. However, I think Cliff and the fractal team had carried away with true passion and really enjoying what they are doing. Sometimes they can't help themselves, but sharing that passion with us. I think the fractal team has so much trust...

Axe tuner is the only thing I use now. Always bring one as a back up, but never had to pull it out.

LR Panning question

I see what you mean. I'm running stereo cab block, with 1 cable out to a single FRFR speaker. You are right.. as I adjust the Pan L value to the Positive number, it gets louder, but little tighter I felt. Maybe that's just the volume difference. I see for -/+ values.

Tuner issues

I only use the axe mfc tuner now and never have any issue with it. Try it with the front of the axe without the mfc and see what happen. Could it because you have micro phonics pickups and it could be picking up everything from the stage?

QSC K10 vs K12

K10 is better for lower volume. I played with both the k10 and k12 all the time and noticed that you get more bite at lower volume on the k10.

Gritty Sounding Clean Tones

Guitar strings are very subjective, so many type are made for a reason. For my Gibson R9 guitars, I could not find anything that would suit my need other than the Gibson Vintage Strings. They are over priced IMO and are junk. But, it goes with this particular guitar and the tone that I want...

Gritty Sounding Clean Tones

What type of clean tone are you after? What type of guitar and pickups are you playing? I think you may have the problem that I had where the output is clipping all the time. If you play max volume on the clean presets, most likely it will clip and causing the gritty sound. I never play more...

MFC 101 mk3 Error 13?

The program is on the MFC itself. Press the set up button, press MIDI button, change parameter to Expansion and hit save. If you still have the message timeout error than it's the port. I had the same issue and had to send it in for repair.

Broken MFC-101 mark I Ethernet connector

Easy to fix if you have a good soldering iron, solder wig, and solder itself of course. Otherwise, Fractal support would be the way to go.

For those struggling with FW18 - my own experience...

I had this same problem with one of upgrade as well (can't remember which one). I did some reading and I think Cliff had suggested to redo the process. Everything was great after that. I've seen this issue with many other company as well, so I'm not too surprised.

AXE FX seems to turn on my pc :p

Was your computer on standby or sleep mode? If you go into the Bios menu, some motherboard has the wake by USB or LAN option.

SOLVED: Presets sound crap after firmware.

All of my presets are having issue with the output clipping. Thus, made thing sounded like a busted speaker just as others had described. I went in and adjusted all the cab levels and amp levels, all are fine. Played around with all the new cabs and reverbs, everything sounded better than...
