    Happy Birthday FRACTALS

Today is Benoit Mandelbrot's birthday. His principal area of interest, much like mine, was FRACTALs. I wonder if while he was pounding out sick mathematic equations, he had an inkling of what Fractals would become and how awesome it would sound? For more info on the man, the myth, the...

    Help with an external footswitch?

    Help with an external footswitch?

Nah. I tested PC RESET and it worked but as I mentioned it can’t reset the state of your foot switch. If it is on and then you switch to a new preset with PC Reset ON then it will reset the state of the switch in the preset but the switch is still “ON” so you need to click it twice to get it to...

    Help with an external footswitch?

OP said he is using a latching footswitch. Depending on its polarity setting a Momentary switch typically reads “OFF” when not in use and “ON” while holding it down. If the OP were using a momentary switch he wouldn’t have the problem he’s having because he’d would need to take his foot off...

    Help with an external footswitch?

The switch has a polarity that the ax8 is reading switch engaged = pos and off = neg or vice versa. If you set the Filter block controller to PC OFF then it will always read the status of the switch and apply it to the block even when switching presets. Setting it to PC ON will ignore the...

Purchased my first Axe-Fx II and looking for expression pedal recommendations

Anyone know if the EV1 or EV2 have a "spring load" option so that it can always return to ZERO? I have a Mission EP1 and it's an absolute necessity IMO on WAH. I like to have it auto engage and when you take your foot off it disengages. Couldn't see any mention of it on the Fractal Product page.

I'll try and answer this more specifically later when I'm in front of the Axe FX II but I felt strongly that the key to the sound is the punchy low end and the sharp compressed attack which I believe is due to studio compression during the mix phase. I played around alot with a compressor...

Ok. This begs the next question. What is your favorite Viv Campbell song? And then part 2, your favorite solo of his? I think my favorite song (this is so hard to pick) is Last In Line. Also my favorite solo of his. 2nd would probably be Egypt the Chains Are On. That solo is smoking.

FW15 - Convinced there is something awry with the Dizzy models

Why is this I wonder? Shouldn't the default be 0% for all amps and then if you want to add more you do but the "default" amount of CF Comp should be inherent in the algorithm for the particular amp so the CF Comp knob is simply relative to the the default value of the amp. Right? I had to...

Taper is the curve that the potentiometer follows so it has no effect on the sound. Just what it sounds like at a given place on the knob from min to max value. Think audio vs linear pot on a guitar. This means your previous settings will be off from 14 to 15, thereby requiring you to dial...
