Yek's right. Global is turned WAY down. I noticed right away when i gigged with the AxeFx that the unit would be WAY too hot for the house board and by lowering the global it gave the soundmen a better range to work with without clipping

HA, well... extremely specific tones are much harder to do tutorials on. THose take me much longer to do because I try to narrow down MUCH more nuanced tone aspects which don't lend to good tutorial content. but I'm not against it totally. let me think on that one a bit:)

IR Captures are going to be 80% of the equation. If you can find an IR Speaker Capture you like, almost any amp/effect/setting will have good tones. Instead of cycling through all the amps and settings to get good tone. Find a simple amp you may be familiar with and try ALL the IR Captures...

...no, it was jackson brown's Dumble BASS amp... not steel string singer. Texas Flood: The whole album is a combination of one SM57 on a vibroverb and one SM57 on the dumble. Different songs feature more of one or the other amps, but I don't think there is any song on Texas Flood that is JUST...

Unfortunately, A) I've never owned an Alder strat B) My current favorite are stock 1973 pickups in the guitar played above... But as for any custom pickups? Don Mare really gets my goat.

Yes, sorry. My main ouput is dropped to max so that it helps keep my AxeFx from overloading both the main board and ear monitor boards. This means, my patches, without the output drop, will clilp. Just turn both amp's level down about 6-9dB.

Wet/Dry Rig...Possible?

Probably the easiest would be to pan you guitar cab blocks all the way left and right and then simply connect your Left output and Right output normally to the Matrix and Cabs. THe cabs will be stereo split L and R but because you pan the cab blocks, you will only get one amp in L and the other...

"1959SLP" is a unique amp circuit produced by Marshall in modern times. They sought out to create the "Iconic Plexi Tone" so they developed this particular circuit to represent what they felt was THE plexi tone. I believe no actual Vintage Marshall amp exists that has that circuit...

There is way more to it then just directionality... ...Its like trying to get your favorite CD to sound like "amp in room" The AxeFx is producing the MIC'D guitar cab sound.

This is incorrect. The IR capture of a guitar speaker is already translating the frequencies limited by a guitar cabinet. You can test this by bypassing the cab block... that horrible scratchy mess of a guitar tone (if using a distorted amp) is actually what a guitar amp is producing before a...

This is because the "amp in room" phenomenon comes from the fact that guitar speakers are very directional which causes millions of slightly different off-axis points of listening from all 360 degrees of exposure. Combine this with the then millions of tiny different reflections around a room...

Just for discussion sake, here is the amp with the setting above using Cab Pack 15: I don't listen to Urban at all, so I have no idea of what is "tone" is using this amp, but these settings sound nice and balanced for a clean and could be a good platform for pedals.

Not a stupid question. Non-master amps, especially early circuits are built to be played clean. Only by accident did guitar players start liking overdrive and distortion. Once you start turning up the volume knob on a non master amp, the preamp signal into the power amp becomes very important...

These are excellent plug and play synths! I'm currently watching Halt and Catch Fire so that squeltchy bass 8ths was what I ALWAYS wanted to jam with! I think Fractal should put more then one of these is some factory preset slots.

FWIW, the Hiwatt sounded good for that sound even WAY back in Firmware 7.00 FW7.00 Floyd with that Hiwatt: The Hiwatt amp in the Axe has been one of my favorites since the beginning. Can't wait to get it G3'd, but I'm happy with it now.

Lonesome - Joe Bonamassa

Found this MP3 stuffed away in a folder for some tests I was doing with Wolftone Pickups (Dr. Vintage). Sorry, don't have the patch anymore... I'm about 99% sure it was using the Ford 2 Dumble amp block and the EVML and EVMS stock cabs in firmware 18.03 I believe.

Without more detail on the specific clean style you want; my personal "fenderish clean" is found in the Vibroverb Ab. It seems to have the best balance of all the fender amps and responds with light or heavy attack. Then, sticking a BB pre drive pedal in front gives you the drive sound that is...

• G3 is automatic for the amps that have been converted. • I still do the select new amp and reselect old amp for every firmware upgrade. I hear a clear improvement.

Since updating to 18.07, my AFX2 is not sending my PC sound through my monitors

Check the newest parameter for the USB output. I think it defaults to -60. turn it up to 0 or so...

Gritty Sounding Clean Tones

Cleans are great IMO. Just make sure the drive is Low: PATCH DOWNLOAD (Cab Pack 8 Used in patch... R121 C1 and SM57 C1)

Getting the right tone from a Tele

My instincts tell me you are not sure what you are asking for... This is a patch I personally would use if I was to try to sound a tad like Robben Ford when he uses his Telecaster. PATCH DOWNLOAD But seeing "EMG" in your post tells me you won't find the above helpful.

My new JVC SRX 812P Powered Speaker with Axe FX 2

Yeah, I ran a JBL SRX712m as my monitor for the first year and a half. Really great speaker. Got a CLR and it turned out to work better... but at times, I miss the singing upper midrange the JBL gave.

Fw 18.04 and sustain

No. Sustain is as good, if not better, then it ever was. Though as Cliff points out.. no modeling changes between 18.01 and 18.04. Low output pickups.. .medium gain type amp...and no delay help:

Folded some wreck and plexi into a small composition

Played around tonight with the plexi and wrecker amps using an old strat. Played all the other instruments with a midi keyboard:)

Well... there's always something to be said about the guitars that where made in the era when they where not trying to cater to every whim and tone. In 1973 they had ONE stratocaster with ONE pickup.
