I‘ve encountered the same kind of bug numerous times using AxeManage. It’s been there since like forever. The best way ist to strictly steer clear of AxeManage and CabManage. The outstanding customer support that applies to the AxeFx2 doesn’t extend to AxeEdit2 I’m afraid. There are several more...

Unless you are kinda, well... using stereo delays. Or enhancers. Or.... Anyway. That’s kinda pointless anyway. Ain’t it? :-) The point being there are many a guitarists who may not play your kinda style but kinda being guitarists nevertheless. Going stereo on a gig. Imagine!!! Unbelievable.

    Axe-Edit constantly loses connection

Having the same issue. The connection is just gone. Have to restart Axe and Windows to get the connection back. Bummer... Didn’t Cliff say months ago he found the reason for this and could remedy it? Looks like the bug is still there, though... BTW, in case AxeEdit is adapted to the new Ares...

Axe-Fx II Firmware "Ares" 1.00 Public Beta

As I’m gigging regularly I had to stay on 10.01 due to the increased gain in some models. Still waiting for a word from The Man Himself if the Ares gain corresponds better to the real amps - in which case I would start adapting my presets - or if the final version will be different.

Axe-Fx II Firmware "Ares" 1.00 Public Beta

You are right, but until now axe edit always worked flawlessly with Betas concerning that topic.

Axe-Fx II Firmware "Ares" 1.00 Public Beta

Up until Q10.01 you could use the up and down arrow keys. The keys on their own changed the values in 0.1 steps or 1 steps depending on the item the controller is attached to. When pressing shift or Strg and the respective key the step became smaller (0.01). That way you could finetune the...

Axe-Fx II Firmware "Ares" 1.00 Public Beta

I found another glitch with AxeEdit. When you attach a controller to gain or volume etc. you cannot adjust the values using the keyboard (the arrow keys). The values jump around like crazy. Can anyone confirm?

  19. guitardoc

Axe-Fx II Firmware "Ares" 1.00 Public Beta

Maybe it’s just my imagination that there’s more bass due to the increase in gain. Tested the FW with a Vibrato AB and there was significantly more gain which may have given the impression of more bass. Anyway, I’m sure Cliff will look into it and make sure it’s correct.
  20. guitardoc

Axe-Fx II Firmware "Ares" 1.00 Public Beta

I, too, reverted back to 10.01 since the gain was significantly raised in the beta. Its more bass heavy too.
  21. guitardoc

    AF2 Ares amp block gain?

Not only the AC30. The Vibrato AB has more gain too as have several other models. They seem to have become more bass heavy too. I’m sure Cliff will look into that before releasing the final firmware.

Double Verb Vib - Drive from clean to mean needed

I wanted to leave the MFC floorboard at home since I only need clean, crunch, lead, and chorus for this particular band project. I wanted to kick the chorus in using the Axe‘s pedal jack (MK1 - only one jack) and wanted to go from clean to mean the old school way of using the volume knob.

Double Verb Vib - Drive from clean to mean needed

Looking for a really sparkly clean amp I bonded with the Double Verb vibrato channel lately. Master Volume halfed and saturation switched to ideal did the trick for amazing cleans. Now I’m looking for a drive block which delivers rocking rhythm crunches and creamy leads just by a turn of my...

    Saxophone Simulation

Nah, it‘s The Best by Tina Turner. The sax solo consists of only few notes and when played on the guitar sounds dull and colourless. I’ll have to play a different line as guitar solo then. No big deal I think.

I‘ve been playing live a half step up using the AF2 for about two years. It doesn’t feel natural. OK. However it sounds allright to the audience and that’s all that matters to me when playing live. I’d never bother to bring another guitar. Why should I?! Ask yourself how many people in the...

Even with my stock iPad speakers I hear a significant difference, especially with the Class A amps on the edge of breakup. The III growls like my real AC30 does whereas I always had to complain that my II lacked something. Oh no, did I say that? Shit, now I have to get me myself the III...

Real Vox AC15 vs Default Axe

Yes. I compared the actual sound and recordings additionally. I’d say it’s about 90% there (I used a Matrix 1000 fx). But it’s still lacking body and harmonics (if that description makes sense). Mind you, it doesn’t sound bad, it’s just ‚not quite there‘. Maybe it’s to do with the cab irs. I...

I’d be extremely happy to be able to reproduce the sound of my mic’ed real AC with the Axe (amp + cab modelling). Sorry, but it just doesn’t sound close. Again, I don’t want to compare apples to oranges (AC in the room to amp + cab modelling) nor apples to apples (AC in the room to amp...

What speaker is in your AC15? You may have a blue bulldog in it and it delivers a completely different sound than greenbacks. That said, I can relate to what you experience and imho it’s got nothing to do with real cab in room vs. modelled miked cab. When I listen to records of me playing my...

    Marshall JVM Patch

I usually like your tones and especially your fantastic playing, but that’s way too much gain for my taste. You can’t hear the character of the guitar at all. With that much gain you could have used a stringed railroad tie with some Harley Benton PUs on it and you wouldn’t notice a difference... :-)

Harmonizer in the Axe FX 2
