    Overdrive 'Fizzyness'

There are numerous uses for spectral analyzers. Having one running on your screen or on top of your console is never a bad idea, especially if you are not in ideal room. That being said, I doubt you are going to visually see the fizz before you hear it. Once you find the culprit area with your...

AXR FX II XL Noise over Palm Mute

Is the amp in the same room as the axe fx? Its most likely interference in the room somewhere (computer, lights on dimmers). Turn off all of the gates and move around your room with the guitar plugged in on a preset with a decent amount of gain. Is the noise changing? Getting worse in some...

    Freeze Pedal

The work arounds for this pedal in the Axe FX are ok IMHO, however they don't match the pedal. The pedal doesn't impart any reverb qualities and is sustains indefinitely. This is one of the few pedals I still wont sell.

New User Lost With His Sound...

The cab IR is THE most important element to your overall tone. Finding the right IR is the first step in getting to the sound your looking for. You may also want to try doing some tone-matching to your favorite artists, as this may also get you in the ball park faster.

    More pick attack

Try a compressor block before the amp that lets the attack through. Also maybe reduce the gain a bit so you can pick harder to get the gain your looking for. There is also a pick attack parameter in the deeper setting. I think reducing the transformer match with help with this a bit too.

    FX on heavy rhythm guitars?

Use the same reverb you are using for the drums on the guitar, etc. That way it all sounds like its in the same space. You may need to eq the send or return a bit differently for guitar but that will help a bit. I use the room parameter at about 10-20% just like you. Blending guitars into a mix...

I want as little latency as possible, should I get a analog mixer?

Well, you are right if he keeps the buffer at 128. But if he sets the playback buffer to 1024 because he's not feeling the latency anymore through the analog mixer he 's gonna be surprised when he plays it back. I am just suggesting that whatever the playback buffer size, just be aware of what...
  26. toolfanem

I want as little latency as possible, should I get a analog mixer?

There is always going to be some issue with latency, due to the fact that your protools return is always at the mercy of the playback buffer delay. If you are going to go the route of analog mixer, just notate your playback buffer size and compensate for that delay by adjusting the file in...

BIAS port of an AX8 amp?

Right, this is exactly what I meant. Of course the Axe FX itself is digital model, however the wording of the page makes it seems like its an alternative to the axe fx, when it should be marketed as an alternative to the amp itself. Even if the person who made this used the axe fx as the...

    RECORDING TECHNIQUES w/AXE FX II

I come at this from the writing/recording perspective as I am sure lots of other folks here do. My personal belief is that you should only print effects that are crucial to that particular sound. Startling discovery... for me at least...

It sounds like a wacky thing to do, but I used to do this with amplitube metal. Drive parameter in delay block

It can be a big difference depending on the amount of repeats/feedback and volume level of the repeats. Lots of loud repeats can cause the sound to build up in front of the amp, essentially driving the amp harder. If the delay is after the amp, you dont have that issue. I like doing it both...
