Fremen presets - V 10.02

Yeah I use them as monitors and back line depending on gig. They are compact and run at 4ohms which works nice with my Matrix amp... The cleans are lush (find the acoustic sims a little "clicky" at times... but I'm struggling with the High Gainers... I shall have another look :)

My rackcase is finally finished! Custom patchbay and drawer

I love the patchbay! I'm being a complete dunce here... but where do I find the connector panels? I'm not even sure of their proper name? I've searched things like USB patch panel etc.. but not really getting anywhere.

Mixers and Headphones?

I tried the same.. but in all honesty I found it not really close to ballpark... more ball-miles-out-the-park.... of course depending on types of patches being made but anything with overdrive or distortion had to be tweaked heavily at Live volume. Just my expeirince.

Controlling sharp highs

Excellent cheers... It was actually a tone matched sound so didn't have the cab settings but then found out that when you assign that tone match to a user bank you can recall it as a cab which then has the hi cut etc controls!

I'm just moving from Guitar speakers to FRFR. I have a soundman mate who has stacks of gear and he let me try a pair of Martin F15 speakers.... amazing!! That's where I'm going.

Real Cabs

Fattening the sound

Whats the best way to fatten a sound with just adding EQ or BASS etc? I have a sound I like and it sounds good... but I just want to "fatten" it.. sort of like a doubler/double tracked kinda thing. Thanks very much! :) Pete

Well yes.. except.. when I change guitar.. before using the wireless I had a poisition for my Suhr and then a position for my Vigier which is active... now I have no reference as I can't get the clip light to register.

Blending CAB blocks

Howdy!:) Can you blend a CAB block? As in with Chorus etc I can set it in Parallel with Bypass mode set to Mute FX IN, Mix 100% and then blend the Chorus via the level control. Is there a way to do this with a CAB? i.e. set it in Parallel and blend it with the dry signal? Cheers Pete

I know this is an old thread but I just downloaded these presets and they really are great!! I’ve never had too much of a problem dialling in hi gain presets but my cleans and over drives have never been like my old Amp Heads… then you do a wonderful thing and share your hard work for everyone...

Ernie Ball Stereo 25k Pedal to Axe FX problem!

I guess its just the whole thing of sending it back to the states waiting for a replacement... lifes to short.. I've sent an email saying it doesn't work but not heard back.. I'm not paying for postage ontop of a lead that is broken/doesnt work. :)

I think my opening post was misleading... I was merely making an observation that good low level patches are far easier to work on the 'fly' than gig volume patches... many more variables are concerned as the volume goes up :)

Does anyone use Matrix GT800FX -> EVM12L's with CABS ON ???

Ultra>GT800FX OUT A 4X12 MARSHALL 1960 OUT B 2X12 EVM CLASSIC 80 Running both at 4 ohms. CABS Sims off. As yek said.. at gig levels (my bands generally 2 git, drums, bass, keys) CABS on just made it too woolly and muffled... having said that some CABS on the clean sounds...

Sorry... I took a picture on my phone to post.. but got side tracked. The switch is at the toe of the pedal.. where you plug yuor leads in. look inside under the foot plate and there will be a little black switch.. this changes the sweep of the pedal (or does on mine).. to the right it makes...

Wah GCP and Ernie Ball as expression pedal

I've got this same problem with my Ernie Ball Volume pedal.... 50% of the movement does nothing. I think you need a pedal with a linear pot... which is what you get in an expression pedal.

MATRIX GT800FX + ULTRA + CAB?

I'm using my Ultra with a GT800FX going into a a 4x12 marshall annivesary cab (75's) and a zilla 2x12 cab with 2 EVM 12L 80's both a 4 ohms (so around 400 watts each cab). Cab sims turned OFF. Every time I switch it all on I'm loving it even more.. things become more logical and the learnign...

Whammy preset for Marooned

Hiya Can anyone help me out.. I want to make or download a preset to play the guitar part of Pink Floyd's marooned. It uses a digitech whammy to pitch up to some mental high notes... Any pointers? Cheers! Pete

Variations In Amp Sim Levels

Hey I noticed the same thing... I must be to do with the presets and amp sims being older than the firmware updates etc (except for new ones included in firmware).. I say this because I've noticed how the manual says that to get the best from Modern Higain amp sims you really need to bring the...

Matrix GT800FX using a single channel in stero mode...

As far as I was aware Mono PARALELL doesn't require any modification to leads and can be used exactly like Stereo mode.. All mono paralell does is send Input A to both output A and B (Input B not being used at all but the Gain Control still controlling Channel B). Where as Stereo sends Input A...

Yek.... Love the patches you uploaded... the strings is AWESOME! I don't use an expression pedal at the moment but wondered what it does to the strings Preset? It sounds awesome without :)

4x12 guitar cab works for me at present....

This was exactly my issue… I wanted to use FR due to the lush sounding cab sims… but for the time being I need a killer sound fastish and sticking with the cab ruled out a lot of fiddling. I still use the Cabs when at home and plugged into the studio monitors and I’ve just ordered a new cab...

Cab mix level control

Arr righty... that's one thing that confuses me a little.. the amount of level controls.. Amp Level as well as Mix level in amp block and gain level in Layout Mix page and Cab level in Cab mix page.. all of which bring the level up or down... As I'm still learning the AXE i've been bring all the...

Cab mix level control

On the cab edit window you have the Mix page at the end and a level control... Wondering what instances you'd use this control. .. I had a look at a couple of Mark Days presets (which are really fab!) but It took me a while to get some volume as on the cab mix page the level was at -19db... Why...

Loud Live settings.

tonygtr - I don't follow. Everything I have read has suggested that making presets in a studio enviroment (less volume) is totally different to making live presets. What sounds good in a studio requires tweaks at gig volume...

4x12 guitar cab works for me at present....

So I've decided to stick with my guitar cab for the time being... The reasons being.... I know what it sounds like :-) I've tried a set of full range pa speakers but just having a real hard time getting a nice loud sound.. They seem to lack feel and "oohhh" ...hard to explain. So off came...

Cool.. thanks for the replies... I finally got what I think is a decent loud live sound.. and as you have pointed out I only got there by arriving for practice an hour before everyone else. :) My method was to find my gig volume and then go past it and work my preset... on backing back down to...

Different WATT cabs receiving same power

Ok... don't know if this is dumb or not... :) Two cabs.. both running at 8 ohms.. One is rated at 600 watt with 15 inch speaker the other is 200watt with 12 inch speaker Both are being powered by the same Power amp set at 12clock (so not full power.. power amp is capable of 260watts a...

Post-Metal Tone

One thing I've figured is that for anything HI GAIN using the modern model amps... the best sound will arrive once you roll off the majority of the MASTER VOLUME (anywhere between 2 and 3 is good I find)... factory presets leave the drive and master up high which creates masses of over saturated...

First Impressions of Ultra

Totally Tubiflex..... another thing I have noticed... a DECENT quality power amp makes all the difference. I've just hooked up the matrix and really like the sound.. tomorrows practice will tell how it does... I've borrowed a set of FR cabs (15inch and 1 inch at 8ohms/600watt) so much bigger...

No no.. I'm not after replicating a 4x12... just looking for a system that will hold its own against one. I love the Ultra BUT I need to find a workable set up to perform the tasks I have to do... hence the question.

Yes.. sorry I was being a bit vague... for sure I'm not driving the 4x12 to the max or even close... and some nights I use a DSL 60 watt tube head.. I do play heavy rock.. AC/DC, Maiden etc.. but I think I'm going to prefer the sound from the full range and Atomic seem to be the perfect...

Howdy! I'm wondering if anyone could advise. Before going down the Axe route I was running a 100 watt tube heads (Marshalls, Blackstar etc) and the majority of the time straight into a 1960A 4x12 300 watt cab. Now I have the Axe and Matrix amp I would really like to try 2 passive wedges...

A few more thoughts... the factory settings REALLy aren't a good example at all as far as high gain patches go... After trying a few and thinking..."Seriously... no better than this??!?!" I delved into the AMP settings and realised that most the NEW model high gain amps were running three...
