HollowBody Suggestions.

I love my 1980 Howard Roberts Fusion, when I bought it about 5 years ago they were pretty inexpensive. The older ones seem to have gone up a bit, but I prefer the TP6 tailpiece. You might luck out and find one just a bit over your range.

Too bad there is not a lightning-based equivalent from Tascam- I have one of those lightning to iPhone 4 cables, but it just seems a little clunky to need that. Is there any other interface that has a lightning connector?

New phaser/trem pedal, pretty sweet!

As great as the Axe is, there is a lot of creativity out there beyond what can come from Cliff and Co. A really awesome thing about the design of the AXE is that there is no reason you can't insert pedals anywhere in your signal path if you want to, so you can have the best of all worlds.

Looking for a multi-use powered monitor solution

I think the RCF NX-12sma fits this bill well. The 10" version might also be a good fit. It is about 17 lbs according to the RCF site, so not sure how light you are talking. I have a CLR but I still like the RCF and dont plan on getting rid of it.

Yes, the battery definitely drains when plugged in. That is an annoyance for sure, I like to just leave a wireless transmitter plugged in all the time, and I go through about 1 9v battery a month.

Beautiful guitar- I love mine! I haven't noticed the hiss issue you are referring to, but mine is a very early one S/N 57, and they made some changes to the circuit after mine. The change is supposed to fix a problem, but I don't seem to have it so never sent it to be "fixed".

There has been a fair amount of effort around Limelight here, do a search, there have been a couple of pretty good presets, though they were on older firmware and I haven't checked them against FW 14. There was one nice one that used scenes and had most of the sections of the song pretty well...

Rhythm guitar, rhythm guitar !!

Dont know what kind of music you play, but using a set of bass pedals tied to a synth can add to your space. Worked well for Rush, Genesis, etc. The bass player has to have a lot of coordination to pull it off though.

Sounds great! There have been a number of good Limelight tones out there. How about Sprit of the Radio- that seems a lot more elusive to me. I've never been able to get close, even with a vintage electric mistress and a Loft. Something different about that flange tone.

How many Axe FX2 in the field ?

Almost impossible to reverse engineer a box like the Axe or Kemper, as its all software... It could be done, but it would be incredibly resource intensive, and would not pay enough benefits to justify spending the time. Now qualitative listening and looking at features is another story, but...

what amp cab would you guys use for a led Zep II patch

When I sold my Ultra, the first guy that bought it complained about the PEM marks and insisted it was damaged. I explained what PEM studs did to no avail. In the interest of keeping my 100% positive feedback rating, I took it back and ate the shipping both ways... What a putz!

Alex used the Axe as a backup rig on the previous tour, when he still had 3 or 4 G-force units doing effects, but for Clockwork Angels he ditched the G-force and was using the 2 Axes for effects plus the one for acoustic. I'm speculating, but I'd bet that Scott Appleton had a lot to do with...

LMAO- I actually do have a G-K 2000cpl! Not a magic bullet either- could it be me? I'll take AFTK or Hemispheres tones overall, but there is something cool about GUP/PW, in the same way that the HRI guys cherish the Landau stuff, I'd like to be able to cop those 80's Rush tones.

RCF NX 12-SMA Technical Question - Loud pop after powering off?

FWIW I always power down the NX-12 first, and I sometimes get the loud pop. I leave the volume control where it was though, I try and avoid rebalancing the left and right cabinets. Let me know what you hear from RCF, hopefully this does not require a repair.

Pauly, Did you buy it used or new? I thought they had addressed the fan issue a while back, mine is audible, but not what I would call noisy.

Love both of them a lot, they are both in my top 5. But I gotta give it to Rush, based on their longevity and amount of material, their individual musical chops and their devotion to their fans.

Or use an expression pedal on some parameter that controls the gain, more footwork, but very controllable.
