Just pointing out that the forums I started don't have this kind of drama. I pre-emptively nipped this in the bud by having the world's laziest mod team, and co-admins who had no idea how to use the forum software even if they did want to ban someone. (I started sevenstring.org, btw. Sorry...

The final spot for mine is into a mixing board with a pair of Mackie HD1221 wedges connected to it. I have the FM9 and an FM3 going into the board along with my vDrums, and then I grabbed one of those cheap-but-great-sounding Headrush wedges for my own monitor. Out1 from both the 9 and the 3...

I wish people would stop putting so much stock into gear flip/resale value. Just play guitar and stop treating your amps like investments. Beat your guitars up. Take the screen protectors off of your Fractals. Let your buddies flog your most expensive axe. Crank the hell out of your amp. Worry...

LEDs - Just the angle of the photo. The switching in the 2:90 is the only reason to own a Triaxis IMO. By itself the T/A is a reasonably decent sounding preamp that's way too complicated for it's own good. It's not that it's particularly difficult to use, it's just that for every one great...

    Bug? FM3 Crackling/buzzing in loop

Thanks for the reply! - USB makes no difference (it was connected in that vid). Crackle persists without it. - I'm not using humbuster cables. The cables are good though, and if I swap in an Axe-Fx or my kemper the crackle goes away, it's just with the FM3.

Post Your Axe-Fx III Rigs Here!

Here's my setup. Upper Axe-3 goes into that Mesa 20/20 and to the headrush wedges. FC6 hooked up to it. Lower Axe-3 is in the loop of the Triaxis/2:90 and shares the 4x12 Recto cab with that 5150. On top is an FM3 that's in the loop of the SLO. It's all inside a converted closet in my office...

George is the very definition of "tone is in the fingers". Absolute monster of a player, and I can pick his phrasing out anywhere. Anyone who plays that well and writes something as asskicking as Mr. Scary can slather on all the spray tan he wants and still be aces in my book.

Axe-Edit 3.0 Sent to Final Testers

I would so love the ability to write my own scripts to AE for mass edits. My house's electrical is noisy as hell, and since there's no global gate in the axe, being able to mass update every preset with a quick script that sends the settings to all of them would be ace.

    Can you guess the pickups/guitar?

It's not really a JEM, it's something I put together myself. It's an aftermarket basswood body with a MIJ neck from an old RG5xx, swirled by Chris over at Mai-Guitar. The pickups are indeed mounted on the PG, and let me tell you - it's a giant pain in the ass on a clear one, because it's nigh...

Ding! Surprised the hell out of me, and I've owned this guitar for a while now, heh. Who would have thought an RG could sound so bluesy, eh? That body is basswood, and the single coil isn't hooked up - I don't use it (my picking hand likes to land right there), so that clip is just H-H.

    what next

What's next should be copious amounts of RTFM, if you really want to get the most out of the Axe. There's nothing you can do with Axe-Edit that you can't do with the front panel in terms of programming the unit. Yes, there about a dozen different ways of taking care of that. Adjusting the...

    Preferred Reamping Method?

I found that (for whatever reason) using an Axe-Fx DI (created with an FXL block at the front of a preset) to reamp with the Axe-Fx was fine, but using it to reamp with a "real" amp didn't work well at all - I'd have to boost the shit out of it coming out of my DAW, and it would end up sounding...

FXL block (low) output levels for DI

Quick question with a probably-obvious answer. When I record, I shove an FXL block in the preset I'm tracking with, leave it default, and use that for a DI (via Output 2). In the past I've had no problem sending that dry signal (via my DAW) back into the Axe for reamping. I'm fiddling...

    Recto sound, tweaking!

I've had good results de-flubbing the Recto model by treating it like a Mark. Try this - just use an amp and a cab block, and plunk away on your lowest string. Lower the bass control on the amp model until the flub goes away. Then add a PEQ block, and add your bass back in there, around 80hz...

Looking at the hardware interface levels and the levels in my DAW, one side was definitely louder by a decent amount, even with the Axe...

Low Volume from Right Output 1 Issue - Any Help!?

I have the same issue, actually. I run my XLRs into an interface (MOTU 828mkii) and the levels are definitely peaking about 2-3db lower on one side constantly. Swapped cables, loaded up a blank patch, had the Axe on bypass - same result. It's definitely quieter on one side.
