I use this sometimes: https://www.ernieball.com/guitar-accessories/instrument-cables/headphone-cables Basically route a mix through my FM3/FM9 and use out1 for my personal mix (use the headphone out) and out2 goes to the board. In the FM, I mix the guitar signal with the monitor mix, so I can...

Tuner's... Do you use the FM9 or are you still gravitating to your dedicated unit?

For 440hz or even 432hz, I use my fractal or peterson tuners. However when I feel like I need to get down with some serious lovin', I inhale and tune it up to 528hz!

    Wish IR + impedance bundles

Given how important IRs are and that matching them in the amp block with an impedance curve (and other things), would it be possible to expand the IR concept a bit and introduce a bigger representation of a cabinet that also includes electronic properties (in addition to acoustic)?

Has anyone built this cabinet for the Celestion F12-X200 speaker?

I tried a pair in a 2x12 synergy cab that I have, didn't quite work out. Then I tried mounting them in a bogner 1x12 (cube) and a Friedman 1x12, and that sounds great. I also tried out different power amps and the fryette power station always sounded (and felt) best. I tried out the SD...

Thornbucker pickups - odd high end?

I think that the thornbuckers are awesome, definitely my favorite suhr pickups (+1 to Tremonti). I do notice them having a bit of an exaggerated top end in my mahogany guitars fwiw . Those guitars also happen to have the Gotoh 510 trem, so maybe that combination contributes to it. In my other...

Greg, Rex - thanks for the suggestion that my question is wrong 😁 Kidding aside though - and point taken; let's forget about the specifics of balancing a bike. What about walking? I did see someone pack a quad cortex in a mono tick. That seemed to me like about as compact a rig as you could...

    FM3 Firmware Release Version 1.06

I think that the switch related issue has been identified and fixed though. Sounds like there's an additional issue related to usb that might still be unresolved. Let's see those FM3 rigs!

Yes I did that to maximize my horizontal space. It's easy to remove the rubber protectors and to put them back on. It's also possible to keep them on while still mounting the fm3 on the board if losing a bit of space on the board is fine.

What do I need to stop electrical interference from wall outlet?

I have a mixer as an entry point for a few things (axefx, audio card, mobile) to my studio speakers. What fixed most of my issues was to use an ebtech hum eliminator before the mixer.

    FM3 Firmware Release Version 1.06

My guess would be that there's a race condition. In my patches, I'm using 65%+ CPU and when I experience the freeze, it's when I'm switching between scenes somewhat rapidly (e.g. at the beginning of a song I switch to scene 3 but then quickly switch to 4 since that's really the one I wanted)...

Want to speed up boot time? Delete all your presets!

I'm not sure FractalAudio was replying specifically to "Just boot on an empty preset". Rather confirming the finding in the OP. I ran into this as well. Took a chance and copied my main presets from the axe3 to the fm3 and went straight to rehearsal after basically doing a line check :D Wasn't too terrible, but definitely wasn't the same as on the Axe3. So I rebuilt the patches from scratch on the fm3 and am getting...

    Suhr Ssh+ pickups your thoughts?

I think that the thornbuckers are awesome. Easily prefer them over the SSH and SSV pickups. They split great too and offer very usable tones in parallel. I have thornbuckers in several of my guitars now and in the years that I've been using them, have not come across anything as good and consistent.

    Vs The Real Thing

Are you using more gain on the AxeFx than on the amp perhaps? I wouldn't say I'm particularly tall but for what it's worth, I'm about 6ft/183cm, shoe size 13US/46Eur and the buttons work fine for me.

Using the FX8 as a midi controller

In theory you should be able to send at least three sets (PC+CC) midi messages when a preset is engaged. One with the per-scene midi feature and one for each of the two MIDI blocks. The MIDI block implementation, has some issues though that I hope will be addressed (I've filed a ticket with...

The Hum that will not die......

Recommend the ebtech hum eliminator. It's not the same thing as the Hum X, not North America specific, passive and fits nicely on or mounted underneath a pedalboard. Looking for splittable HB with good SC sound

Thornbuckers are very nice. I wouldn't say they're metal pickups but you can get there as well as enjoy a broad range of excellent tones. They split really well and I also like the way they sound when wired in parallel - bright and full strat type tones without the hum.

    Midi block bug?

The first time a scene is changed doesn't behave as subsequent changes do, even to the same scene. Per scene PC or CC is limited to one, which is why I'm using midi blocks. Midi block bug?

Howdy, I want to use the MIDI block in combination with a Voodoo Lab Hex and use CC messages to turn loops on/off. What I've found is that when activating an FX8 preset that has a MIDI block, won't have it's CC value sent on preset activation. Toggling the ON/OFF state of the block gets the...

    Suhr Ssh+ pickups your thoughts?

I know the ssh+ and ssv pickups pretty well by now having had guitars with them for a few years. JamHub Greenroom or Behringer X AIR XR12 or XR16?

Btw, as a workaround for the TRS thing if you have an AxeFx and want stereo, you can connect the headphones out directly to the input on the jamhub using a TRS cable. Just be sure to completely turn down the output volume first and gradually raise it.

JamHub Greenroom or Behringer X AIR XR12 or XR16?

JamHub is noisy (very low quality headphone amplifiers and preamps) and it's a hassle to deal with everything being TRS. The XR Air series from Behringer, is great. I have the XR18 and am very happy with it. As far as I'm concerned, if the price of the jamhub was $5, I'd still go with the...

Gator has been mentioned a few times in this thread but I don't think their G-Club Control bag has. FX8 vs G-System?

The g system does not have a boost. The fx8 does. What the g system calls "boost" is actually attenuation of everything except what's "boosted". That's not necessarily a bad thing but important to understand in this context since the fx8 actually has the upper hand. The biggest difference...
