Is Apple's keychain a reasonable choice for password storage?

Been using the Pro version of LastPass for a couple of years. Works on every platform (PC/Mac/iOS/Linux) and as a plugin for most browsers. Totally integrated on each device. Disclosure: No relationship with them except as a happy customer!

Been using mostly XLR's (+ NL's) from audiopile.net. Not the cheapest, but have some I've using for close to 10 yrs!

    XLR ground lift?

IF you mount them side by side they should have the same ground ..no? If you have buzz from the XLR connected to the PA, it's likely due to the PA being on a different circuit/ground, NOT your rack/rig!

Matrix GT1000FX channel drop out issue.

I was perhaps overly-broad in my assertion that "no vendor can control the quality of 3rd party parts included in their builds". In retrospect, I should have stated that in spite of QA, sourcing, etc... PARTS DO FAIL, thru no fault of the vendor! Glad Matrix is working thru the challenges! :)
  5. s0c9

Matrix GT1000FX channel drop out issue.

Sure.. and that is why they warranty their end product. If too many failures of specific parts occur a vendor will try to switch out suppliers, but that's not an overnight process! Paying more for higher quality products will increase consumer pricing.
  6. s0c9

Matrix GT1000FX channel drop out issue.

Unfortunately, no vendor can control the quality of 3rd party parts included in their builds - regardless of product. They "assume" as certain quality based on the supplier, but bad parts DO happen. At least they are taking care of you!

Wireless IEM systems - which one to buy / avoid ?

I do believe I said exactly that on my post - right above the one I'm replying to! ;)
  9. s0c9

Wireless IEM systems - which one to buy / avoid ?

Yes, if necessary. My X32 Rack - which runs our monitor mixes has both brick-wall limiter settings available on the output buss compressor, and supports inserting a [built-in] Limiter on the same buss.. So lot's of choices. In 10+ yrs of IEM use, I've only had one instance where a limiter MIGHT...

Wireless IEM systems - which one to buy / avoid ?

Well, not to throw a wrench in the works, ;) but since I posted my comments above that you quoted, I've talked with a number of "pros" who build IEM systems for "national acts" both on the phone and online, NONE seem to care about in-line limiters anymore! I've been on IEM's for 10+ yrs.. I...

    Live Use/ IEM Question

This is what we do.. for our IEM's. In the OP's case, he can route both OUT's from the FM3 into separate channels, use OUT1 to FOH and OUT2 to his IEM mix, and tweak that to taste! This solution means we ALWAYS mix our own monitors and let FOH concentrate on FOH.. plus.. we get the same mix in...

Wireless IEM systems - which one to buy / avoid ?

Having had my Senn G3 for a few years and running a STEREO mix, I've recently done a ton of research on whether the upgrade to the G4 or some other system is worth the expen$e! The Mipro specs are awesome.. only one issue... I can't find ANYWHERE that shows the system has a built-in LIMITER...

FM3 Muddy sound through In Ear Monitors

Can you cut some of the mud with the EQ on your IEM mix bus on the console? If FOH is good, then DO NOT change it on the Axe.. modify what's going to your IEM's! Nice IEM's BTW.. I've owned their Qi's and upgraded to the A8's about 2 yrs ago! LOVE 'EM!

FM3 Muddy sound through In Ear Monitors

    Gigs canceled due to COVID-19?

We had a gig scheduled this Friday.. but it's the BL's anniversary and he'd cancelled it back in Jan - but venue owner still had us listed. IEM best practices

Absolutely the way to go.. however, using the AUX outs as additional feed was not something I wanted to get into [above] as "sends on faders" doesn't work with them [directly], and their easiest use case is mapping one of the output busses to them. Wireless guitar system suggestions

5G "Wifi" channels and the Carvin 5.8G are NOT in the same frequency ranges, so you should be able to safely use both together. Besides, even IF they shared the same ranges, as long as both are not using the same 5G wifi channel (of the 25 available in the US) you STILL shouldn't get...

Or that the meat is incorrectly bias'ed :)
  37. s0c9

"Digital modelers just don't cut through"

I look at it this way.. When playing the Axe in a band setting: Does it sound good to you? Do you get complaints from audience or FOH when you play? If not, then ignore what others are saying about modelers, and go PLAY! :D

    Noise from Bass :(

If I sit at my PC - playing bass or guitar, active or passive pickups - with the Axe about 6 feet away in a rack, I get RF "noise" from the monitors radiating into my audio chain. How many Axe-Fx's does it take to replicate this? (The World's Largest Guitar Pedalboard)

Stereo or mono for live playing?

If you are running back-line only, I'd say fine. Other than that, you'd need to check with FOH, as most aren't expecting TWO inputs from the guitar :) That said, unless they PAN those 2 inputs hard L + R you'll only get a partial effect. Some FOH folks (like me) will happily oblige if you ASK...

Stereo or mono for live playing?

As an FOH guy as well as playing guitar and bass, this is an old, old topic. FWIW - my $0.02. First.. Who are you doing this for? You or the audience? If NOT the audience then the mono/stereo question is moot. If it's for your audience, consider this. There is a narrow triangle between FOH and...

Plugins for people who can't sing...

Not in my experience.. it's a fix-it-in-the-post tool.. :) TC has some good pitch-correction devices (and harmonizers) but they [mostly] rely on a guitar/bass/midi feed to identify pitch. Yes, they can work in a specific key without input triggering.

I'd say close to a third (1/3) of the bands I run FOH for at Festivals in my area are local bands and totally clueless about live sound, never mind OUTDOOR live sound. This includes the tribute bands I've done too.. One - a GNR trib - had TWO 4x10 cabs w/ 100w Marshall heads and totally...
