    I noticed the boost function in the amp block is really useful now. I think I prefer it over drive blocks. I no longer need to use the cut switch in the amp block. And my fingers are really sore. Thank you cliff and co. !

    I didn't like frfr until I started using low and hi cut in the cab block. To get more in the guitar cab range. 100hz to 7000hz works for me. It felt more comfortable and much less ear fatigue.

    Changing tubes...no real difference.

    I just spent an hour playing the supertweed. At stock settings the master is at max. You can really hear the difference switching from a 6l6 to a 6v6. The feel really changes from tube to tube. I can lose hours playing the non master volume amps. Really fun with single coils too.

    I just pulled up a stock 5153 red amp, didn't change a thing, not even low cut. Added one of the ownhammer gb cabs. Motor drive on 4db. Then at the end of the chain I added an optical 2 compressor with line selected. No other changes. I can't stop playing. Amazing feel!

    about to buy a used Axe - some real noob questions

    I use a focus rite Scarlett USB interface and Adam f7 monitors. They have plenty of bass. I have an axe2 but prefer using the analog out >Scarlett>computer. Monitors out of the Scarlett. The Scarlett has a headphone out too. I can record, jam to YouTube if I want. This will work fine with an ultra.

    I usually hit record when I am trying out different ir's. I am often surprised while listening back. One I thought that was the best is not always that. I usually record any tweaking session. My hearing is much better when I passively listen and there are always song ideas in the material.

I am using an ultra res g65 mix with fremens high gain presets right now. I can hear the difference between the amp models but it is not a huge difference ...

    I have a jem with evos also. I generally lower the presence and sometimes turn off the bright switch. Alder body with evos was designed to cut through a dense mix. It definitely does that.
