Amp Rack Shelving

I'm trying to decide between racks to fit my Axe FX II and Furman power conditioner. I think a 4 space one is too big and a 2 space is too small. One question, Do you have to put shelves in between the power conditioner and Axe or does the screws just support the Furman since it's not very big.

all rack gear is designed to be supported by the front panel screws only. Well, some large stuff (like computer servers) may need extra help (like rear rack mounts), but the stuff we're talking about here is fine with just the screws.
