How do I stop wah being active on all presets?

I am having a problem with my settings of the wah pedal on my MFC. For some reason, if I am playing a patch with the wah pedal engaged and then switch to another patch, the wah is still engaged (if it is in the fx chain of that preset of course.)

Any ideas so that each patch only loads the wah effect when I want it to rather than it being there instantly when I change to the patch?

Are the wah blocks set to auto-engage? If so, you might check the PC Reset parameter.

@Alec: IIRC, PC RST only applies to parameters, not to the bypass state.

@Aces: if you switch presets using only the front panel, is the wah active each time as well?

yes if I dial in a patch with the Axe', the new preset already has wah engaged if the wah was already used in previous patch.

Are you using a latching switch assigned to wah bypass? If the switch type is HDW now, what happens if you change it to TOG? (Manual section 8.2)

The manual doesn't make it very clear (and has some incorrectly pasted info there) if this will work, but it might. Another option is setting the switch up as an Ext Ctrl and using PC RST with a bypass modifier.

I will try your suggestion Bakerman, thanks. I am using a spring loaded Mission SP1 pedal. The weird thing is that it never used to do this and acted as normal. Maybe I have pressed a setting somewhere which makes the wah pedal (exp 3) global on all patches using wah?

I have a sping loaded mission (on EXP 2) - and this also happened to me when I loaded the new AXe Firmware (9.02) and the latest MFC firmware (I did both together so I don't know which one caused it) - personally I think it's great- I now have the WAH set for me on all the first 50 or so presets

How do you set it so the wah isnt engaged until you step on the SP1? I am trying it now and I can instantly hear that the wah is on. If the sound was unaltered until I stepped on the pedal that would be ok

I don't know - it was already set that way - so maybe it was some of my previous setting that were saved - as before the update I had WAH set up on one preset this way.......and to do that I had followed Chris's Expression Pedal set up video - and had calibrated the pedal (have you done that again?) - and I think I have the "Begn" setting to "OFF"
