Who uses and likes BOSS FV-500 for wah expression?

Pros and cons? Anyone mod so it has a spring? If not do you think that would be an easy mod?

    Hi Tremonti

I use two - one for volume and one for way.

No springs. You can adjust the tension of the pedal and it stays easily in the down position(Wah off)

Very solid and easy to calibrate.

    Just got one.
Best pedal I have used with a modeler.
Great range. When calibrated goes from 0 to 117.
Sounds great using with my Mfc 101.
    No spring.

I have 4 plugged into MFC and love them - lots of travel - lots of foot real estate - built like a tank - no calibration issues.

I use two and it took a bit of getting used to...but once dialed in on the axeII for WAH settings it was great. I don't care about a spring so that didn't matter. No in and out cables...expression jack only. Once calibrated with the axe .....your done.
I like the heaviness to it also....they are very heavy duty and feel like they are built to last.

I received one in the mail last week. It calibrated from 103 to 125.

On the Ax the sweep appears to be 100%. And the volume knob on the pedal is set to max.

What do you guy's think,,, Is it a problem? Should I send it back for replacement?

The volume knob on the pedal needs to be turned 'down' all the way..... if it isnt you are calibrating its minimum to wherever the knob is set. Turn it down and re-calibrate and you should be fine. Always make sure they are turned down when using it with the Axe and expression output jack.

I have two, built like brick sh!t houses, never even considered a spring... It would kinda suck if you wanted I play with your wah set to a funky sweet spot wouldn't it?

Got two of them. They work great for me. Just what I was looking for in an expression pedal, robust, adjustable with the right amount of sweep. I use one for volume, and the other for everything else.

No particular reason. Just wanted to try a larger footprint and maybe a possible larger range. The Missions work great. Axe Fx cured GAS....so I have to GAS for the little things!

another user here. don't like my expression pedals to feel like vintage Wahs and actually prefer the slightly different feel of the Boss over the others. use it for everything that needs an expression pedal.

I have three and LOVE THEM! One of which modded and added a toe switch (got the idea from Voes) and use it is a wah. I really do wish there was a spring mod out there but the toe switch works great. Got it prewired from Mission grilled the whole and bam

Anyone tried both the Boss fv500 and the Roland ev5? Ive tried the Roland a couple times, and the feel/sweep is awesome. The weight also helps, being lighter than the fv500. How does it compare to the Boss? I know the Boss looks great, and works great as well. But Im still in love with the Roland and how well it worked controlling volume. Nowadays I use 2 Nice rack canada linear 10k exp pedals, and they work really nice for wah and whammy. But as a volume/blend pedal they dont have a very a expressive sweep.
