Thread: Updating the MFC shouldn't be this difficult

    Yeah, the real problem on Windows is the MidiOX program and the parameters for the timing. You Mac-heads have it good in this regard. I think Snoize just works out of the box.

    My cable was fine and the hookup was actually correct. It really just boiled down to the fact that the MFC can't accept fast sysex data at least from a Win 7 64 bit machine unless everything is perfectly timed. I did get it eventually.

    Also, the Midi-OX program itself is very complicated and fickle verses other Sysex Midi programs like Snoize or SendSX, etc...

    It really should be easier but then again, what is easy these days? I'm actually kind of amazed we can do any of this stuff at home. In the past we probably would have had to send our units over seas to get a firmware update. I'm NOT complaining!!
