    First request for a newbie - Tool Rosetta Stoned guitar and bass ?

    Can you guys help me out ? I am absolutely in love with Adams guitar sound as it it a super tight low end and lots of high end "hair". I don't even know where to start replicating this.

    And the bass sound Justin Chancellor gets is just superb. All help or direction is GREATLY appreciated !!

    Not the song you're looking for, but for bass, I use a Rat Distortion on the Tube Pre and the public OwnHammer V31 SM57 5 cab; with the Rat, I use the xy for clean and a distorted tone. Here's a sample of the distorted tone. Schism - Whammy by Michael Aschoff on SoundCloud - Hear the world

    Also, how does Tool do this? Is it also a guitar on the album?

    I would love to have that tone! There is a part at the end of the song where everything stops and Adam plays this riff that is arguably the best modern rock riff written, and the tone… its purely sonic bliss.

    Merry Christmas ... this is beta mind you ... the patch should be set up to go with the whammy and whammy volume being controlled by expression pedal 2, so you may need to tweak it. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Thanks!

    For clean tone, just switch to X on the drive.
