    Pat,

well done on that tone match, your'e a champ!
I don't even listen to Tommy, so I don't care if it actually matches or not but i can appreciate that yours is the best acoustic IR I have yet to come across. I agree that the fishman aura IRs weren't very good for whatever reason. some phasiness in all the ones i tried.....
anyway this one is a definite keeper.

This is me using an EBMM JPX into my axe fx ultra loaded with your IR converted to 1024 samples. My preset is probably similar to yours but with a multiband compressor at the end. Just noodling, shit playing and all the rest...

    thanks again

I've been doing this for a while now, back in my Standard days even, and it's decent. I've been using a Jumbo IR that...hmm...maybe JavaJunkie posted? I think it was one of his. Throw in a touch of chorus and reverb and it gets you in to piezo tone pretty well with just regular mag pickups.

Run a row of shuts from the first block in the grid to the output. If you get sound, start the row at the second block, and so on. When you reach the block that loses sound, you've found where your problem lies.

My ideas based on your awesome ones

Loved these presets, but prefer an all in one, and needed a bit more treble twang for my setup (which tends to be a bit bassy). I reworked one by adding a graphic eq, and made another tone matching the OP's recording! lemme know? I believe the Tommy Acoustic one may still need the Tommy IR, but not necessarily if you tweak the graphic eq, I hope I uploaded the reworked ones!

There's no Aura in the chain at all. This is straight piezo into the front of the Axe, a filter block for some extra gain and a Tonematch block (and reverb). I mentioned Aura because I hated it. Bought it and sent it back within 3 days.
    Patzag,

Tell us how you really feel about the Fishman Aura? - LOL!

How long ago did you spend your 3 days with the Fishman Aura to determine how terrible it was (for you)? I ask because the product-line has changed quite a bit over the years, and there are so many different models?!? I own an earlier generation Fishman Aura (the silver one that is approximately 9" wide X 7" vertically X 1" deep. It also weighs a LOT, which I actually always loved, because it NEVER slides around on a slippery stage/floor!) BTW, there are atleast a couple of different ways to deal with phase-issues on the Fishman Aura (if/when they occur, but it's NOT an automatic issue...) but again, I can only speak about the "generation-one (boat-anchor version) of Fishman Aura," and it is/was one of my best purchases. I've done approx. 350 - 400 gigs with it, and I've never had a reliability problem OR any phasing-issuese at all. Perhaps Phoestnix can chime-in and have my back on this one - LOL?!?

Now all that I've said does NOT alter the fact that you've gotten some very nice acoustic-sounds in your attempts, and I look forward to NOT having to use my Fishman Aura in conjunction with all of my newer Axe-FX II gear! I want to create a tone-matched cab-block and have at it it too...I just wanted to offer a much different experience of the (Gen-1) Fishman Aura unit, since I've had excellent experiences with mine!

    Patzag,

You've done an excellent job with your Acoustic-IR creation, and I agree...If one owns an Axe-FX II (and a piezo-equipped guitar especially!) this is the way to go. After all, what Fishman was doing with their Aura system was essentially using a hardware-dedicated unit/architecture which allowed onboard mixing (anywhere from 0% piezo-with-100% IR, to 100% piezo-with-0% IR and ANYWHERE IN BETWEEN) of pre-recorded Impulse-Responses (which were recorded at their recording-studio facility) along with some patch-savable EQ, compression, and gain-stages/solo-boosts. (The Aura also had/has an onboard chromatic-tuner and real-time feedback detector/exterminator!) Being able to record our own IR's which then get stored into CAB-blocks on our Axe-FX II's is a beautiful thing! We now have much more power, and customizability, etc. The futures looking bright ("..I think we neeed shades!") Believe me, as much luck and good performance as I've had with my Fishman Aura, I'll be psyched to NOT have to hook-up the little boat-acnchor on the stage anymore!!!

    Hey Bill.
I used the latest incarnation of the Aura. I downloaded about 30 IRs or so and was not happy. What I was getting was the same kind of result one gets when using LEFT + RIGHT input setting on the TMA black. A hollow phased sound. Now - that was with my electric guitar. And the Aura never claimed to be for that instrument. The idea is, if you own an 814CE, use the 814CE IR and it'll correct the sound back to the acoustic tone of the guitar unplugged. I never did that. I just tried to get a good sound out of my Parker. Was it better than the piezo alone? hummm, maybe. Not enough for me to have to deal with another pedal.

I've hear others use the aura and get great tone. So sorry if I came across bashing, that was not my intention. My intention was to share what was for me a small miracle. I use my Tommy Acoustic patch every day in concert to the amazement of my audiences. here I am, sitting on a stool next to a singer doing Marley's Redemption Song in from of a Caribbean audience on an electric guitar that sounds like an acoustic. It shocks people ... and I like it

    Hey Pat,

That's cool. Sounds like you had some bad experiences using a more modern (stripped down and less powerful) version of the Fishman Aura. That old Gen-1 version (which I own) KICKS ASS, and I dunno why Fishman ever got away from that design or chassis (although it WAS rather expensive!)

BTW, I very much look forward to getting some excellent/covincing Axe-FX II/TMA-block/CAB-block results as you have!

    Well done my friend!

This sounds fantastic with my JP6 piezo as well. Thanks for the share. Fantastic acoustic tone. Just unreal.

As the main user of piezos live that I listen to, JP should IMO throw this patch's block into his patch signal chain and put his piezo through the Axe instead of his Fishman. This sounds incredible, and his piezo sound through the Fishman doesn't sound that great when compared to real acoustic album tones.

That's a stunning tone from a Parker piezo on an electric. That sounds better than some plugged in full bodied acoustics. You can hear a little bit of the piezo thing going on, but it's super useable and wouldn't depress me to use the way some amplified acoustics do.

Thanks guys! Your feedback and good comments are much appreciated and I'm glad this works with so many different guitars. 587 downloads so far! That's pretty cool! And over 5000 views on this post. I had no idea this would go that far!

CC: Maybe JP already downloaded it?

I have been messing with the acoustic Ir's and patches and I ended up saving and using yours as I needed more highs
in my mix. I have a Brian Moore guitar that has the piezo pup and Patzag's recording etc sounded great although
I couldnt get my guitar to sound that way at all. I was able to get a really good sound out of your first "Bill Acoustic"
patch. The second was really muddy and the third which is "Bill Acoustic (2)" clipped my input solid red. The other however I am using and really like. Thanks go out to Patzag for originally getting this worked up and thanks to your for the little tweaking u did.
So thought Id give credit to u guys, much appreciated. Will definitely get used.
