    GnR content - Nightrain

My first full recording of the year. Nightrain by Guns n Roses. This is tone-matched on a Marshall AFD model. I used a PRS McCarty for the whole recording.

Sorry for the sloppy leads, I made up many parts, I figured out the entire song by ear. (and couldn't figure out some)

Let me know what you guys think!

Nice tone! Really captures Slash's feel on that one.

Hey guys, thanks for all the great comments.

For some reason, all my tone-matching experiments with Slash led to an ultra-fat tone that sounds boomy on recordings. EQ knobs on the amp settings did not work at all, tone-matching was dominant. All I could do that made a significant change, was to modify the amp voicing to "Bright". It was a bit too much, you can hear it in the recording. I guess I'm a lazy plug and play guy, I have figure out all the features of Axe-Fx. Can anyone help me about this? What should I do first to cut back on this boomy bass? Amp graphical EQ seems to be the natural way to go, but I don't know how to use it, I have good ears but I've never been a tone-meister

I also had to add an EQ by software on the last lead parts, due to the same reason.

I tonematched Pete Thorns Suhr SL68 and I found it really hard to get the lower end correct especially if I mute strings. Its like one has to pay great attention to get the thump correct otherwise I ended up with huge low end that could not be dialed out with the tone controls.
