It's probably the 220 volt power overseas.

230v in Singapore, pretty clean too. Nevertheless it is not unheard of that a spike can shoot down the line and wipe you out. You never know when someone's going to put a backhoe through an underground power line...

Thailand power is dirty as hell - we get blackouts, brownouts and a constantly fluctuating line voltage. Highly recommend Furman PL C 8 E (or the plus model if you like seeing how bad the line voltage is)

Is this power supply from Mouser exactly the same as the OEM ? LPT42 Emerson / Astec Power | Mouser

For $45.00 I may order one as a backup.

@Teddis, spot on. That's the power supply I bought.

@Garbagetruckdriver, haha there's quite a bit of work going on now since there are several new MRT lines being built, fingers crossed that no such accidents will happen!

Still, I guess a good power conditioner is kinda like buying insurance. Never know what might happen!

I'm all for that - it is actually cheaper for me to fly to Singapore from where I am, rather that go to Sydney/Melbourne etc. Go figure!
