    Can You mic 4x12 CAB and send signal FOH as well?

    I'm currently running 2 setups:
    using a ABY box...here goes:

    Marshall JVM410hJS with 4X12 CAB

    and

    Axe Fx 2 with two QSC K12's

    this will be my stage setup..

    I want to send the AXE FX 2 to FOH and I'd like to combine that tone with my marshall JVM410 as well by miking it...

    My question is: will this result in a good tone...or will i get phasing issues? I have a gig coming up and I'd very much appreciate any input you guys may have....

    Thanks! happy new year everyone!

    Wether or not it will result in a good tone is subjective as always . That said if your happy with what's coming out of your amp/cab along with the Axe II then it should all be good. If you do have a phase issue it would be a simple thing to rectify, just go into the I/O section and reverse the phase on the OP your using in the Axe... problem fixed!

    The two mixed in the FOH should sound fine, I have done this before and it does work... but it is more work and somewhat redundant given the quality of the IR's nowadays. You should be able to get what you need from the Axe by using your guitar cab as a tone reference to get close. I would then use your cab as a side fill on stage to monitor with. Result is FOH sound is much better, sound man loves it and you and your band mates will hear you much better, at lest that's been my experience. Of course this does very from stage to stage and then there is the "Cool factor" of a back line look so that has to be taken in to account as well.

    Thanks man, I have a gig on january 10, 11, 12...I guess I'll find out soon enough...i do appreciate your comment. i think the axe fx 2 and my marshall jam head and 4x12 cab sound amazing together...its a huge thick sound and the marshall seems to add some clarity and oomph to the overall tone...hopefully i'll get some video of the gig and post it here....thanks again Sixstring!

    cheers!

    result in good tone? well, if so then only untill you get tinnitus, and if you think that tone is good then you're lucky because it will stick with you for the rest of your life.

    Sorry, I'm just worried about your hearing for using that setup. Ok I'll admit I'm the kind of guy wearing a helmet riding a bicycle, and using the belt driving a car but still,

    If you're on a big stage with a loud drummer and all, the obvious solution is to make the drummer play softer. I don't get the need for all this volume all the time, but I don't get

    much in general. I'll soon order the matrix q12a and that's only a 1x12, I'm sure it will fill my needs.

    I've never heard great tone from a volume being too loud. Ask the audience after the show if they felt it was too loud or not.
